They certainly gave her that opportunity, which she ignored with a smile. Then it turned into "get out of the vehicle" which she also ignored and decided to go with her first option AFTER she and her partner did a little smack talk and the agent moved in front of her.

Your honor, my client has recently seen videos and read reports of masked men who were not ICE or law enforcement and not identifying themselves, kidnapping and hurting people. The men in this video, who gave conflicting instructions, did not identify themselves, and had no reason or right to open her door and pull her from her car. 1 of them also pointed a gun at her while screaming and escalating the situation.
We ask more of our normal everyday citizens in these kind of situations than we do of "trained" officers with guns. She was supposed to handle herself in a calm, rational matter while being screamed at and a gun pointed at her head. But the gestapo? He gets a total pass because...he got dragged by a car 3 months ago.
She should still be alive and he should be a stain on the road.

The agent should face any normal consequences for the incident but certainly not a stain on the road.
No one should have ever been in that situation. This is not about immigration. It’s about punishing people who look and speak different.
One should ask themselves what is the first thought they have when they are standing in line and they hear a foreign language. If it’s “speak English” you’re on the wrong side and I guarantee it informs how you view yesterday’s incident.
Smack talks and conflicting orders within seconds of each other shouldn’t equal three rounds inserted into a body.

Write your Senators. Write your representatives. Don't fly off the handle. Don't paint the other side as evil. Give practical, specific resolutions to issues you are seeing.
Beyond anything else, I wrote about how Mr. Young is my voice in the Senate, not Trump. I didn't even say I disagreed with Trump (even though I vehemently despise the man) - I only said that we can't let one man have this much power, because otherwise, what even is the Legislature for?
