You are correct. I used an extremely poor choice of phrase. I wouldn’t consider it bigoted, but many would. Also, I would never use that phrase in conversation and should not here.

As I have stated, both my dad and FIL are immigrants. Both my wife and I still have multiple aunts and uncles (mostly in South America), plus tons of cousins, that have never immigrated to the US. That certainly adds to my push against illegal immigration and those that do not follow protocols…but that does not give me license to use a term that many may find offensive.

The Supreme Court ordered the return of Abrego Garcia from El Salvador. Much of that case was centered on lack of due process.

One of the insane things about all this is the Latino vote broke for Trump to the point where its arguable they gave him the election. So instead of doing whatever was working they double down on the stuff that should drive them away.

I have wondered about the stand your ground laws in Florida. If a masked person with a gun comes after you, not willing to identify themselves, how would stand your ground work? Nader stand your ground wouldn’t the person be allowed to defend himself with his automatic rifle? I cannot wrap my mind around the legalities dumped into the courts with the two opposing entities.
