ICE

You know what is unfortunate. I would guess if asked to complete a properly written and unbiased questionnaire about your beliefs on the best way forward for the country on most of these issues, I suspect you are @Rob B. would not be all that far apart. I think you would have differences, but not differences so drastic that either of you would be like "WTF, that guy is crazy."

But, despite that, in modern America, we essentially have to pick a side. Even if you avoid picking a side, someone pigeonholes you into one based on a few things you say.

And, once on a side, people then sort of defend the turf. Similar to OU fans defending Joe Mixon, even though I know many of them are not in favor of a huge man breaking a woman's face.

I sometimes wonder why @Rob B. defends the side he does the way he does. Often, if reading between the lines of what he says, it isn't really far off most of us and probably right in line with others. But, the system pushes us to a side, and here we are, divided, hateful, and not really proud of the nation that years ago was so bad-assed to say that you are from. In 1986 as an 18-year-old I took my first trip to Australia. I felt like a rock-star. "Oh, please talk to me!" "What's America like!" etc. That shit's gone.
Inactually agree with you. I have one thing that makes me lose all respect for someone. And that's how they treat others. For a long time I have Rob the benefit of the doubt but after time and again posting questionably racist memes and saying racist things I no longer give that benefit. Also I specifically said we when talking about Rob only talking about his family. It is a thing most Americans do. We have no sense of community unless it benefits us directly. I maintain that while it might be very minute the things that happen in our community affect us whether we admit it or not. And its biggest show it affects on us comes from the media we consume. I have been on both sides of the isle politically in my life. I and in my 43 years of life one side politically has decided they only care about a portion of the populace. I have watched people I admired and cared about go from teaching me to care about others and to treat everyone with respect and continue to do the exact opposite. And I'm not only talking family. I'm talking friends parents, old teachers and business men and women. I'm sorry that I'm so outspoken about this but it's only against those I see that always double down on what they say. I have learned so much about my life over the 3 years that I will no longer sit back and be quiet when I see people being shitty. Americans hate being uncomfortable when dealing with issues and I'll be damned if I ever let that stop me from dealing with those things ever again. I am sure I have gone at thing in the wrong way at times. And I have tried to do better with people that I see that haven't constantly chose to prove me right.

@RxCowboy is another poster that I have gotten into it with over the years. I don't have the same thoughts about him as I do Rob because Rx continues to show that, while I disagree with his religious beliefs, he cares about others even those that don't have a connection to him.

Here is the Problem with Defending ANYTHING Trump does , says or acts upon. At some point he will TACO out and people like @Rob B. are STUCK holding the receipts of standing up for the VERY THING the POTUS has now done a 180 on and left them holding the talking point no one liked as he washes his hands and walks away

@Rob B. Your have Very Much Protected and argued for ICE and Trump's moves in MN. Now he pulling a 180 and looking to start abandoning the Very positions and things you supported because ICE messed it all up.

Trump abandons attack mode as Minneapolis shooting backlash grows

The Trump administration has quickly abandoned its familiar "deny and attack" playbook after initially using it when federal agents shot dead Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on Saturday morning.

Within 24 hours, as various videos of the shooting circulated online, it became clear that the White House was out of step with public opinion.

Since then, the administration – and the president himself - have changed tack, blaming Democrats for what happened and focusing less on the actions of the American nurse who was killed.

This is incredibly troubling. Ive been under the assumption that a bunch of what is happening is due to lack of training of newer federal agents. If we are talking about agents with years of experience that isn't the case. I wanted to believe that the officers involved did something because they were scared or inexperienced but these guys have probably seen enough to understand when their lives are in danger and when they need to focus on non violent crowd control measures. The first officer-if he was dealing with ptsd type issues related to an incident this summer, I can understand it-not forgive but understand. But two experienced agents involved in fatalities in the same month in the dame city is more than bad luck.

These killings may have been a feature and not a bug.

There have been several things that have changed things pretty dramatically for me that might have caused what you would call a Damascus road experience: my studies in medical ethics, the pandemic, the rise of Trumpism.

Rep. Eli Crane: "I think it's a communist insurrection. I really do. And I do think the president should invoke the Insurrection Act. The House Freedom Caucus is going to be pushing that up the chain of command this week."

You're the the one that has been in lock step with a fascist and racist regime. You share blatant racist memes and have been in the FAFO about murdered US citizens(yes I know you have said they shouldn't have been but then also have blamed them also.) so you calling me a an extremist if effing hilarious. And I said put me on ignore if you don't want to read what I write. You still have that ability snowflake.
That's the thing, I want to see everything you post to remind me how not to act toward my fellow man. Your only argument is name calling and extremist b.s. as exhibited here. Then to act like you do and call me a snowflake is the icing on the cake. Please carry on. I wouldn't want to miss one single demented word of it. You're exactly the kind of person who would say "hey, I think I'll go protest ICE today and I think I'll just illegally carry a firearm while I'm at it, that'll show everyone I'm super serious!"

Cnn Jake Tappet called ICE's Bovino a liar saying he had been caught in a lie in his sworn testimony. Bovino pasted a transcript of it and asked Jake Tappet to point out when lied...so Jake quoted the judge
