GOP starting to change stance on Climate Change?

Yes, take down those God awful turbines, get some gas electric generation going and plant a few trees. You gotta love it

House Republicans propose planting a trillion trees as they move away from climate change denial

A trillion trees is going to take up a lot of space and farmland. Seems more like popping off than planning,

What a complete reversal. Republican tree huggers. What type of trees are the most versatile and effective at converting CO2. Wonder who’ll get the lumber contract?

It seems like a bold proposal considering they'll have to sneak on other contries land and plant trees.

Forests typically have 100 to 200 trees per acre. One trillion trees would require five to 10 billion acres of land, two to four times the entire area of the United States.Mar 10, 2020

I believe the plan is for multiple countries to plant a total of 1 trillion trees.

Stopping the clear cutting in the Amazon could help. Pay those people to plant trees.

Haven’t seen too many camouflaged well sites in rural Oklahoma. Wind turbines are considerably quieter than drilling rigs and less lit up than dericks. Old pump jacks running on hit and miss engines are neat but louder than turbines. Even electrified pump jacks make noise.

EVERY time I get out and drive somewhere, all I notice is all of the trees being cleared for houses, farmland, and pasture. How do you slow down this trend?

Which is why I said *can be hidden not "are hidden".

Wonder how long it takes for seedlings to grow into a real CO2 gulpers? My best guess is NOT soon enough.
Because it will take time for trees to grow planting them should not be one of the steps to combat climate change?

So we should sit on our hands? Kudos (sort of) to the republicans for hopping on the wagon late. Its better than never.

You need to get your hearing aides repaired.

My contention is that since Oklahoma put the first wind farms in during 1998 we have had three flash droughts and three long term droughts over 18 months. Wind turbines cause drought due to disruption of air flow.

Talk amongst yourselves

You know that’s not what I meant. Trees are a long term investment, not going to solve our immediate problems.

I didn’t indicate sitting on hands and you know it. Whoopee! Plant a few trees and drill baby drill.
