Bowman, & Sanders continued throwing off their back foot really made me question the coaching they were getting. You’re either coaching it, or allowing it to happen. There’s been a couple of posts I’ve seen of Hauss’ throwing motion. It reminds me of Bowman’s- a low release with a fairly flat trajectory on the ball. In my opinion, this was what led to a lot of Bowman’s overthrows on the mid-length throws. Hopefully Hauss doesn’t have that same issue.
Zane has a really fluid throwing motion and Bowen has great mechanics as well, for as young as he is. There’s obviously much more to playing QB successfully than just mechanics, but it is something worth noting.
He does, at least in practice. The o-line wasn’t great for stretches last year, which led to Bowman struggling to throw with planted feet. It really wasn’t a speed of the ball getting to the receiver though. When you don’t have as high of a trajectory on your passes and you’re trying to layer a pass over backers across the middle or a DB outside the numbers, you have to rely on velocity. The problem is that if you’re not absolutely perfect with the pass, it’s really easy to overthrow the receiver.Hausa’ has much more zip on the ball and it comes out way faster compared to Bowman. Not saying that means he’s the best or that his throwing motion won’t ever be an issue, but just wanted to point that out.
I will also add to that and say bowman was a statue in the pocket and couldn’t avoid any pressure applied. Hauss can move and can create plays in space. He is nothing like bowman. He does, at least in practice. The o-line wasn’t great for stretches last year, which led to Bowman struggling to throw with planted feet. Pray to god you’re right. Last year with Bowman was truly seeing a guy who’d hit his ceiling, and coaching that had him throwing an out to the far hash.I will also add to that and say bowman was a statue in the pocket and couldn’t avoid any pressure applied. That said, I think if bowman had more ability to move around in the pocket or take off that he probably would have had more passes completed. Not having the run threat forces you to be one dimensional.
I still think Hauss is a better qb from the limited action. He seems more confident and commands the field better.
I hate to say it but I think bowman was plagued by his original injury. His arm strength and accuracy suffered. He also seemed cautious and unwilling to step up in the pocket and take a hitPray to god you’re right. Like trying to fit a square peg into a spaghetti colander.
They stuck the best looking in the back…That is one fugly bunch of cheerleaders.

That throw and catch around 23-24 seconds
Wasn’t a great decision by the QB though, way to high a chance of that getting picked in a lot of games. That throw and catch around 23-24 seconds![]()
Not disagreeing, but the secondary coverage looked surprised to see the ball there. That may also be a bad sign.Wasn’t a great decision by the QB though, way to high a chance of that getting picked in a lot of games.
The secondary was surprised because the play was technically over because a touch sack had been called already. In a real game it would not have been a sack though and the defender would have been much more prepared for that pass coming their way.Not disagreeing, but the secondary coverage looked surprised to see the ball there. Or... that ball had some zip to it. And it was a great catch from a risky throw.
