Phillips and Blake are the same guy. Either can come in and get 1 out but leave them in longer than that and disaster is going to happen. Other than maybe a situational one out, both of those guys should be your last out of the bullpen.

In the postgame radio interview JH was more pissed off about the loud music in the stadium than he was at his team’s pitching performance.

Two of UCF's runs were unearned, after Meola's 2 out error in the 5th led to a 2 run single as part of their 7 run inning.
Everything else was technically earned, but there were 7 walks and 2 hit batters. I counted 6 of those scored. With even decent pitching, this would have been an easy victory.

I know pesca transformed his body, and for his long term future that’s wonderful. That said, he’s a better pitcher when he was chunky for whatever reason

So far I am not very impressed with the new pitching coach. I think Walton had two years with a team ERA over 5.00. Usually his staffs were in the low-to-mid 4’s. He had a couple of sub 4 staffs. I am willing to have some patience with him. His Oregon staffs put up some decent numbers.

They are simply putting the ball in play on line drives and sharp ground balls. We are showing off our usual warning track power launch angle swings and swinging out of our shoes at balls out of the zone.
