Cowboys @ Missouri State (Midweek)

In the 90s we use to care. That tweet use to set off players. They wouldn’t sleep that night. The next game they would play with pride and ego. Letting MSU tweet Belt, man we have lost all national respect and have fallen. We need a tough ass leading the pack

Agree never should happen but Josh and his program earned it.
Experiencing the Gary Ward years makes this level of baseball very difficult. OSU should be a somewhat regular team competing in Super Regionals and beyond. Maybe my expectations are high but just making a regional is expected and winning the conference is nice, but we (as a program) are capable of competing for more.

I guess we hoped the name Holliday would attract really good players and coaches. It just hasn't worked out that way.

I might be wrong here but I feel like Josh's approach to teaching hitting is suiting for a different age. Josh played in the juiced bat era where home runs were flying out of the park. In the BBCOR era the ball just doesn't fly the same. Manufacturing runs is way more important, especially against the really good teams. Its better the score 1 run an inning than pray for a 9 run inning because you hit a bunch of bombs. When was the last time we had a guy that could reliably lay down a bunt and move a runner? Maybe its negativity bias but it feels like we get a runner on second with less than two outs, the chances of that runner scoring is less than 5%. The amount of times we have had a runner on third with no outs and that runner not score has got to be #1 in the nation.

In the Gary Ward days, we were great at working pitchers, fouling off pitches, getting deep into counts, and then having success against tired starters and the pen.
