I've heard what government gives you it can take away. I don't think I've heard what God gives you, He can take away.

God can take away anything. However, if Mike Johnson truly believed that these are God given rights neither he nor this administration should be taking them away. Unfortunately, that's what they have been doing with the 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendments.

I don't know anything about this pastor, but he is right. It should also be noted that there is a difference between conservative Christians and Christian Nationalism. Christian Nationalism is not real Christianity. Christian Nationalism is about political power not God.

How do you say you don't understand Natural Law without saying you don't understand Natural Law. Thomas Jefferson has been one of my heroes since I was a young boy. One of the greatest vacations I ever had as a kid was one year we went to visit my mom's sister in Baltimore and on the way we visited Monticello. The Declaration of Independence is the greatest Natural Law document ever written.

Wow! I had nearly an identical experience. When I was 12 my parents (both teachers) loaded us into an 18’ Layton travel trailer and we went to DC for the summer. Monticello and the National Archives were the absolute best places on that 2 month trip.

We went to DC. I wanted to see the Smithsonian so very badly, but we just drove past it. My parents weren’t good tourists.

Look out the window, kids, there’s the Grand Canyon! Yeah, I saw it…

We did actually camp in both Yellowstone and Glacier National Park, though. My mom always bought us books to read for vacation. One of the books she bought me to read on the trip up to Glacier was Night of the Grizzly, about people getting mauled in Glacier. I didn’t sleep the whole time we were there. What was she thinking? 70s free range parenting…

Still have never seen the Smithsonian. At this point in my life it is unlikely to happen.

I have seen the Declaration of Independence, though, in the National Archives.
