Christian Nationalism

Yes and other than the 10 commandments in schools thing that has be been bantered around forever most isn't yet happening. I think you are missing my point. I'm not in any way saying it isn't a problem. Googling more and more stuff is sort of agreeing with my point, not refuting it. Internet algorithms make things seem bigger than they are. That is why so many people see immigrants as "invasion" and think that trans and immigrants do all the murders. Because that is what they see all day long.
In 2019, Christian hardliners introduced bills in several American states which would see the phrase “In God we trust” displayed on public buildings, in schools and on public vehicles, including police cars. Six states – Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Arizona – approved versions of this legislation, and it became law for every public school in those states to display the phrase.

A year earlier, Oklahoma passed an adoption law which allows private adoption agencies to turn away LGBTQ couples on religious grounds. It became the 10th state since 2015 to pass some form of the law, which allows child placement agencies to deny anyone who does not match their religious or moral beliefs

U asked for legislation based on CN

I provided several examples of just that
As I repeated each time, I am not saying it isn't a problem. Giving me 9X10⁵ articles does not in any way change the main point of what I wrote to you. You completely missed the point.

And, no, you didn't do that. You googled and found articles to match your concern. You did not review a single bill or provide a single bill.

Probably when any of these ideas gain enough steam to be legislated.

I'm sure you are aware that social media like threads, instagram etc have algorithms that feed you on subjects that you respond to with page views.
Christian Nationalism isn't a good thing. Neither in anarchy and there are Americans that advocate that. If you were to stop looking at CN and page view tons of things on anarchy you would suddenly get the idea that anarchy is a huge problem. When Antifa was in the media, I'm sure a lot of people had feeds that made it sound like Antifa was about to be the next major party in America. Now, barely mentiioned.

I'm not saying that these aren't issues. But, it is good to have an awareness of where it all sits because they are taking that away from us.

I am actively trying to train/alter social media algorithms to change what they suggest for me.

I've become friends/started following like 500 different corgi accounts....started clicking "not interested" on political posts (of all persuasions left/right)....stopped spending time opening and reading links on political posts (of all persuasions left/right), and started "liking" just about every single post with animals or benign non-political goofiness I see.

I've also downloaded some apps designed to monitor and decrease my time on the big social media platforms.

I'm done with "doomscrolling" social media. You'll probably be seeing less of me posting here as well. I'm focusing on person-to-person contact and experiences, touching grass/getting outside more often, and limiting seeing and posting things on social media to that which cause me immediate joy when I see them (like pictures of my dog and other people's pictures of their dogs).

I see more than my fair share of :poop: in my job to question humanity just from my dang job (just another year 4 months there), that I need to do myself a favor and not contribute to or worry about the world burning any more than that.

My little voice shouting in the on-line darkness isn't going to solve anything or save the world. Maybe I can change a few minds or at least get people to think about things at least a little differently person-to-person, I dunno. I just know that what we've all been doing isn't working and I'm gonna try something new because I feel what I have been doing isn't helping....and has probably been making things worse all around.

Create different logins for Google....right, left and central

It helps

I already get it from all sides and perspectives with the same login.....mostly because I'm social media friends with posters of all political persuasions.

I honestly wish I could limit posts in my feed to only people I am friends with/follow. Then I could just "mute" folks that aren't giving me joy on the regular.

I assumed this. 😁

This is a fabulous idea. I'm joining you.

I have never had Facebook. I am not on X or Threads. The only 2 I have are Bluesky which I scroll maybe 1 time a month bc of exactly what you see w Algorithms.

I do have instagram and only follow my sports teams and my family bc I love seeing my nieces/nephews and their kiddos.

If this board counts as social media then I guess I’m “on social media.” I’m just thankful there aren’t algorithms that echo chamber me on here.

I can respect anyone choosing to spend more time away from a screen. Just know your thoughts on here have been/are valued.

Do you consider that spewing hate?
I don’t know Charlie or his heart so I won’t comment.

I don’t agree w much of what he said. Had nothing to do w ideology but more w kindness. I don’t have to agree w someone politically or theologically. You don’t know what kind of life or day they have had. Just be kind to people.

It’s like you calling a poster a page back a “libtard”. I don’t think you hate him but maybe you don’t know him either and you just demeaned a person who thinks different than you and a whole people group. And why? Just be kind.

I 100% agree.

I limited my phone time and added a FireFox extension called Delayed Webpage which allows you to go to sites but you put in how long you have to wait for the page to load. I have it at 10 +/- three seconds. Waiting 13 seconds for each page suddenly makes these sites less entertaining.
