Christian Nationalism

Here's the deal. I never saw anyone from the right go on social media and say Melissa Hortman or John Hoffman deserved to die. Today has been full of that about Charlie Kirk. It's pure evil and hatred and people like Polds make people like them feel like it's OK. You can all deny it all you want but your posting proves it. You are feeding the hatred and I'm sick of it.

And you can monkeysplain that away all you want, won't change the fact.
This is what you’re doing Rob. You’re focusing on one side and avoiding the broader conversation about political violence.

Politely asked for spoken prayer with nothing else huh

Silent prayers get silent results were her exact words
What about the audible prayers? Are they worded in such a way to faithfully ask God to use His divine power to put a stop to all senseless shootings? If true, audible prayers get no results, either.

You replied to me mfer. I didn't single you out, or accuse you of anything. Bye!
If you could tell us how to address leftwing gun violence without addressing rightwing gun violence we'd be all ears since that's all you care about.

And while we're on the subject of attrocties you don't care about let's also figure out how to keep prirests and pastors from raping children. Since you don't care about that either.

That's a typical libtard response. Assume what I do and do not care about to amp your hatred.

Well the only thing you talk about on here is how terrible immigrants, liberals, and now trans people are.

And I don't hate you, I just recognize you're a prime example of what's wrong with the modern Christian. It's pretty clear you follow the word of Trump much more than the word of God.

Rob

How do we respond to people when they call Charlie “awful” or a “terrible person” after his assassination?

We all have opinions regarding Charlie, but don’t those words somehow act as justification for his killing?

One pastor stood on the white House lawn and proclaimed that to deny Trump was to deny God himself

So you tell me....when is the right time to start worrying??
Probably when any of these ideas gain enough steam to be legislated.

I'm sure you are aware that social media like threads, instagram etc have algorithms that feed you on subjects that you respond to with page views.
Christian Nationalism isn't a good thing. Neither in anarchy and there are Americans that advocate that. If you were to stop looking at CN and page view tons of things on anarchy you would suddenly get the idea that anarchy is a huge problem. When Antifa was in the media, I'm sure a lot of people had feeds that made it sound like Antifa was about to be the next major party in America. Now, barely mentiioned.

I'm not saying that these aren't issues. But, it is good to have an awareness of where it all sits because they are taking that away from us.

Now you're assuming I'm Christian?

OK, it's pretty clear you follow the word of Polds much more than using your own brain.

Nearly my entire family is liberal, we all come from immigrants, trans people are people, some are kind, some are full of hate.
I don't talk or think or post on here about how terrible they are.
Trump is a narcissistic asshole, if he sat down at my table at a restaurant, I would get up and leave.

You've assumed a persona about me because I can't stomach the liberal agenda and all that has brought about.

I've been called "cultist, racist, homophobe, fascist" and a host of other b.s. slurs by people on this board who know absolutely nothing about me. My liberal family and friends know better, but it doesn't stop the majority of you here from labeling me because I don't bow down to the Polds.

It's like you only need to take a step up to go hide on a rooftop somewhere and put me in your crosshairs.

What?
Are you really searching for a justification?

I can't tell you how to respond to that, other than don't go kill someone because of it.

Wow!

Do you not see legislation towards this now ? I don't mind CN until they start making laws to implement their version of Christianity and to me that's what I'm seeing ....it's no different than Muslims trying to implement Shariah law. None of t has any place in legislation

Key legislative and policy targets of Christian nationalism include:

Restricting LGBTQ+ and gender rights: Legislation has been introduced to authorize discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals and limit gender-affirming care.

Limiting abortion access: Bills have been introduced to restrict or outlaw abortion, with some proposals seeking to impose a Christian morality on the entire population.

Integrating religion in schools: Laws requiring the display of the Ten Commandments or "In God We Trust" have been a priority, as has model legislation to promote Christianity in public education. In 2024, Florida and Louisiana passed bills allowing school chaplains.

Influencing public education: Controversial legislation aims to whitewash American history, ban books, and influence school curricula to align with Christian nationalist viewpoints.

Opposing immigration: Some Christian nationalist rhetoric and political positions frame immigration as a threat to national identity and promote xenophobic views.

Lol, calm down drama queen. You said you'd pray for someone on the sports forum so I could only assume.

"Targets" is not legislation. Give me bills to read.

Limiting abortion access is not Christian Nationalism. Sure, they are for it, so is a wide swath of America.

I'm not clicking on all those. Do any of them contain bills to read?

Wow!
Settle down.

I’m not justifying anything. What happened to Charlie was evil. Pure evil. I have nothing but sorrow for his family. His children and wife. His parents. His friends and coworkers. I feel for everyone that he employed bc they have lost a boss, friend and mentor. I feel for our country bc within 6 months we have political assassinations just bc someone was a Democrat or MAGA.

Like JFK’s kids, Charlie’s kids will forever see the video even if they don’t want to. That is just awful.

Obviously my question evoked a strong reaction. Your anger to my question was quick and certainly JUTIFIABLE!!!

Interesting in that my question about calling Charlie “awful” and a “terrible person” are exactly what Charlie said about MLK.

Do you consider that spewing hate?

Yes and other than the 10 commandments in schools thing that has be been bantered around forever most isn't yet happening. I think you are missing my point. I'm not in any way saying it isn't a problem. Googling more and more stuff is sort of agreeing with my point, not refuting it. Internet algorithms make things seem bigger than they are. That is why so many people see immigrants as "invasion" and think that trans and immigrants do all the murders. Because that is what they see all day long.
