The story was literally interpreted by the main stream Jewish Faith and even Christ Followers as NOT a homosexual thing until 400 years after the death of Christ. heck the term Sodomy wasn't tied to homosexual acts until 1000 years AFTER the death of Christ and 3000 years AFTER the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. It LITERALLY has been a story used for 2400ish years to show Gods hatred of oppressing marginalized groups, murder, and theft. adultery, idolatry, and power abuses, oppression of the poor, as well as prideful and mocking behavior and has only been used for 1600 ish years as a story against Homosexuality.
