Getting more playing time will only help those young players (like Ragland, Ahmed and Crotty). So would be beneficial for next year.

I thought so too, looked at the stats and OSU finished dead last in conference in defense last year. Finished 14th this year, so improved by two spots.

It felt like we were much more active on defense last year, picking up the ball earlier and creating more turnovers. But maybe we were worse last year.

Either way, I'm confident there weren't as many breakdowns that led to dunks, layups, and wide open threes.

OSUs defensive stats will be a little skewed because the offense plays so fast.

Rinse repeat. Not being physical is the antithesis of Cowboy basketball. These 2 years have been an embarrassment. We are soooo far away from when we were last good

I heard him say this and thought maybe that was why Clary went 1:1 so much in the last few minutes. If that is true, what an awful strategy. It backfired big time.

It's the old - is what it is. Did loose the big man for the tourney, amazing how many second chance opps tcu had on free throw misses. We are real small comparatively. I still back Lutz. The new class will determine the future - need more besides the new "studs". I will continue my small contribution to basketball and expect better. Not sure if "stargazer?" will do anything - as a "major donor".

TCU was doing something similar--reversing the ball until #24 had a one on one with Ahmed or Ragland. But they had much better spacing and left the lane open for the drives.

Clary was dribbling straight into help defense and picking up his dribble when he got stopped, then the possession was pretty much dead.

If the Cowboys play like they did in the first half, the NIT might be fun to watch. But that second half -- that was brutal.

This comment from Lutz is kinda a joke. Making strides? No, this team regressed from early on and was just going through the motions most of conference. A couple of wins at the end of the season doesn’t change that.

19 wins? Yeah, thanks to loading up the non conference with more W’s. We had a worse conference record this year than last, with a far more talented team and double the NIL.

Really a failed second year for Lutz. Disappointing because he and the team seemed to have fans engaged early but that fell apart quickly, and I’d imagine some early wins next year aren’t going to have the same effect. I know we have some big recruits coming in but better go find some better pieces to fit around them. Probably need to really scrutinize effort on tape this time.

I agree. He allowed it to just fall apart and he accepted that low effort bs we watched on defense all season. I don’t care how highly rated the recruits are if that’s what you allow. I’m not saying he can’t have success here but I don’t believe he will. Which sucks because I thought he was the guy who would turn it around. I’ll be happy if I’m wrong.
