So full disclosure, I’m a terrible fan. I didn’t even know Pokes team had someone named Parsah. Additionally, my bball IQ is almost as bad. I can tell when a team runs zone vs man to man. But that’s about it.
That said, just using the eye test, it looks like there is at least a system or process to what the team is doing. I love Boynton as a role model of a human being, but I never understood what was going on the floor.
All that said, I’m not ready to abdicate our role in bedlam basketball yet. Pokes are better than the last two years BY A LONG SHOT and although they didn’t win, they were up briefly and had a chance to win, but got severely out rebounded and missed easy shots. I want to see how the team responds. IF they play like that a year from now, then we look for a new coach. But good gravy, no way am I gonna say Pokes shouldn’t be playing OU in basketball. We had a good time in OKC and it woulda been GREAT to see Pokes win, but I think it was a good experience for both the teams and the fanbase.
Lastly, our band and Pom/cheer squad dominated! So suck it, OU!
