Bedlam baseball

The untrained eye would see another embarrassing performance, but Josh Holliday sees this team preparing for Omaha, by some players transferring in the portal.
Yes!!! That "untrained" eye that we all have is really missing a team playing very well. I really did have hopes that the team was coming together and going to prove a lot of us wrong after the K-State sweep. Unfortunately it looks like that weekend was the anomaly and what we've seen most of the rest of the season is who this team is.

Pathetic is the right word to describe it. What's sad is this has been a series that Josh has absolutely owned. Now with them going SEC and how this season has unfolded, it seems overnight OU baseball has passed OSU baseball by a longways. I'm sure it will impact in state recruiting going forward as well, which is something else Josh has excelled in.

OU is so much better coached than OSU and its not even close. They do everything well, which is why they were in the CWS finals not long ago. We do nothing well which is why we have barely sniffed the CWS for the last decade.

Josh postgame:

"not the start we wanted to get off to. We didn't handle some of the early balls clean."

"The highlight was how well Brennan Phillips pitched."

"Didn't do much on offense. There's not a phase of the game we can feel good about."

"There's an emotion and frustration about losing, there's an emabarssment factor you have to deal with. You have to manage that and get ready for the weekend."

Now he ACTUALLY SNAPS AT REX for asking if the kids were still with him.

"You saw this weekend, they fought their ass off, that's a cheap question." Eff you Josh Holliday

Yet Josh is safely entrenched and our brain wouldn't begin to consider hiring Skip if he was interested.

Josh going at Rex on the postgame interview for asking Josh if the kids were still with Josh. Called it a silly question. What a weak response by a head coach. Just goes to show coaches these days are rarely pushed with questions. And Rex didn’t ask a bad question.

If he thinks that’s a tough question, I could only imagine what Bill Platte might have asked him.

Really bush league response by Josh to a really mundane question. He should admit he is frustrated as hell with the play of his team, take ownership for it and move on. And publicly apologize to Rex.

Have never heard Josh quite that defensive publicly. His tone towards Rex was really inappropriate. That is probably some of what we hear from insiders of what goes on behind the scenes. As we've all said, it was an obvious question from Rex ... not a total softball question, but a legitimate question that needed to be asked after a performance like that. Josh is lucky he isn't in a bigger market or he'd have to face much tougher questions than that.
