That is a tough job in general. We've never had a president like this and being the current press secretary is an unbelievable job. You have to be willing to make yourself look like an idiot to explain the unexplainable.
If he is suffering from cognitive decline but has surrounded himself with loyalists who will do as he says no matter what, the job of press secretary trying to explain is going to get even tougher.
She herself is one of those loyalists who will do as he says no matter what so she's perfect for the job.
She's not interested in credibility, reasoned rationales, or "trying to explain". She's a sock puppet miming whatever responses she's been given to say.
She's not a "press secretary". She's an administration approved attack poodle of the press.
She was a whack job Toadie before she was press secretary. She ran for the house and was defeated, which is why she got this job.
She is just a younger version of Kari Lake.
I'm not sure if these responses are because somehow I gave the impression that I was feeling sorry for her, respecting her, or otherwise talking her up.

So you didn't give the impression you were "feeling sorry for her", "respected her", or was "talking her up".
