What's funny is that I rarely hear it brought up unless it's one of two scenarios. First, the topic of Alan Bowman comes up. Second, an ou fan comes to the errant conclusion that their opinion needs to be heard in a conversation about OSU.
It's more a conversation about rivalries, and their value to fans of CFB. I completely understand having little interest in a series of games against a team you lose to 90% of the time, but that occasional victory over them tastes better than for example, osu's last conference victory, which was over byu.

fan attendance shows us osu fans dont care nearly as much about playing byu, central florida, iowa state etc as when OU is in town, there must be a reason why attendance tends to be higher during bedlam.

There's a whole thread with your name on it. Go be an attention whore there.

Interesting you chose a non conference game to reply to that. But apparently it's true, their last conference victory was november 2023, but it was November 25 as opposed to November 4. d'oh.

Still, It's pretty impressive to lose 19 conference games in a row, especially in the big 12. Jesus, gundy really earned that buyout
I say this sincerely, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Nothing you have said has made any sense, especially in the context of being replies to my original comment. However, somewhere in that drug-addled mind of yours, you seem to have stumbled upon the kernel of truth behind what my post meant.

Regardless of how I feel about Gundy, I'll always appreciate the fact that he has eternal scoreboard on Venables and that pathetic program.

What Am I talking about? well i was wrong about osu's last conference victory. It was november 25, not november 4.

You see, now this statement proves how much you care. There's a reason why you care this much about beating OU, and that reason, that's what I am talking about.

It's the same reason ohio state people refuse to call their rival michigan, they call them, 'the team up north'. It's the same reason auburn fans refer to bama fans as gumps, and why uga fans call georgia tech 'the north avenue trade school'

This is an insane thread.

Let's assume he isn't making up numbers because I just don't care enough to research it. If the last OU game was one of the most attended games - it is probably because we knew it was the last one. Attendance wasn't down last year because we didn't play OU, it was down because our team was terrible. You are trying to draw correlations that just aren't there.

Rivalry games are fun when they are competitive, but Bedlam in football just hasn't been. I don't get pumped for Michigan vs Michigan State - it is another one sided rivalry. Most other sports are more competitive and more interesting. Did you care about Bedlam wrestling? Were you pumped that we got to play against each other in that sport? I just doubt it.

It feels like you came here to be like "Guys, did you miss us?" and it seems like the universal answer is "No". I've been to every home game for years and I absolutely don't miss seeing OU. I'd be happy if this rivalry died.

As this pay-to-win version of football continues to evolve, I really would prefer to not schedule teams that are in conferences that are higher paid than ours. I'm also to the point where I've stopped watching almost all college football that isn't Oklahoma State and put a lot more of my attention into the NFL where they at least have salary caps.
