Gundy. The new coach seems to appreciate the value of having a rivalry game to play. Nobody gets enjoyment out of beating kansas, and baylor. you love beating OU so much that you guys still talk about the last time it happened. you dont think about the last time you beat central florida though, do you?
What's funny is that I rarely hear it brought up unless it's one of two scenarios. First, the topic of Alan Bowman comes up. Second, an ou fan comes to the errant conclusion that their opinion needs to be heard in a conversation about OSU.

I think you'll find for most OSU people the satisfaction is not having to put up with sooner fans.
I'm not talking about the fans, i'm talking about having a rival, which I think most CFB fans would say that the rivalries are the single best aspect of the sport. OU texas, ohio state michigan, utah byu, army navy, bama auburn, the list goes on. There's something compelling about two teams who hate eachother.

I dont like texas fans, but i love having a rival program to hate (and play). There is no game i look forward to more than that one, there is no emotional investment in playing anyone else all year. Not having a rival sounds boring to me

I know you wish it was, but alas.
Interesting you chose a non conference game to reply to that. But apparently it's true, their last conference victory was november 2023, but it was November 25 as opposed to November 4. d'oh.

Still, It's pretty impressive to lose 19 conference games in a row, especially in the big 12. Jesus, gundy really earned that buyout

Nice, anyway, you should appreciate that your new coach understands the value of tradition and rivalries & what it means to the fans.

I checked out the attendance at bps for the last bedlam game in 2023, 54,105. It's still the most attended game at bps in the last decade.

Last year attendance dropped to around 45k per game, Their last home game was 35,127.

Since the capacity reductions in 2017, the 3 most attended games were all bedlam, 2017, 2019, 2023.

So this tells me how much stillwater cares when OU is in town. And this is before we talk about the tv ratings.

Surely osu fans havent had much satisfaction about football since OU left, the last bedlam game is the most attended game at bps in the last decade. You may get satisfaction without 'dealing with' OU fans, but the attendance figures and tv ratings say otherwise when OU is in town or when bedlam is on
