2025-2026 Lineup Look

Been some time since projected lineup was posted. I go to Wrestlestat on occasion and they list projected lineup for different teams. The projected lineup for OSU recently changed.

Current lineup (with prior):

126 Spratley
133 Figueroa
141 Carter Young ( was Cael Hughes)
149 Swiderski (was Jamison)
157 Teague Travis
165 Lockett
174 Facundo
184 Ryder
197. Merrill
285 Ducet

I think it is clear 141, 149, and 157 are the major question marks. I look for Hughes to start at 141 and either Jamison or Swiderski to move up to 157. On the other hand I could see someone else slot in at 157 (like Robideau ). I do not see Carter Young or Travis starting. But I have been wrong before.

Saw a tweet with the initial rankings……this tracks. Someone asked about Vega at 141 I think. Thoughts?

When looking at 141, 149, and 157, I think OSU has 3 very good wrestlers in Hughes, Swiderski, and Jamison. I think Hughes is the only one that can make 141 and compete at top form. Jamison was at 141 last 2 years and faded at nationals (though not as bad last year). Jamison always looked too big for 141. So I think (hope) he moves up to 149/157. If Hughes is hurt then I could see Vega. If Hughes can wrestle, I would think they redshirt Vega. But that all assumes Vega is not better than Hughes.

On the Cowboys wrestling website, their updated 25-26 roster shows Hughes at 133, Jamison and Vega at 141, Young and Swiderski at 149, and Teague at 157.

Working out the lower weights will be interesting. Having national duals early will likely allow us to see several different lineups.
