She was on Facebook complaining and letting everyone know how her son beat Ryder in HS. Basically reminding the coaches about his HS accomplishments.

I thought he would stay and they would have Ryder at 174. Looks like I was wrong.

He was David Taylor's sparing partner for world's so one assumes Taylor has a very good feel for how good he is. To me it is Facundo or Thompson. Ryder starts, just where, 174 or 184. If Thompson leaves, Taylor is saying Facundo at 174 and Ryder at 184 are better than Ryder at 174 and Thompson at 184. Taylor has got to really know how good all these guys are because he and Kennedy were at PSU, so one has to assume he is making right call.

I wish Brayden well.

If you look at liineup I posted earlier, and move Ryder to 184 and Facundo to 174 ( or Facundo at 165 and Lockett at 174), other than 157 I think we have a guy that should be an AA (accept that I am a homer).

I think Brayden starts at 184 and Ryder at 174. To me that makes most sense.

When you look at clips from Ryder wrestling last season, he is clearly small for 184. Even the announcers said 174 is the better weight for him.

And 174 looks to be much easier weight class next year than 184. At 184 you have guy from Minn that placed 3rd (and took 1st and 2nd place guys to overtime and beat Plott), Ferrari from Iowa, and Walsh from Penn State. At 174 you have Haines from Penn State. So if Ryder is a stud, wrestle him at 174 were his chances are best.

That leaves Facundo and Lockett fighting for 165, 2 strong guys with only 1 slot. Maybe Lockett redshirts, maybe Facundo cuts to 157, and maybe one sits (not sure if Facundo has a redshirt).

That Plott 3rd place loss will sting for a long time. He had that match won and went for an unnecessary late shot when he could have easily played D. I hate that loss for him bc he wrestled so good up until that point.
