2024 Presidential Election

The abortion debate is so stupid. The vast majority of late-term abortions are wanted babies but either the baby isn't going to be viable or the mother is at extreme risk of death due to some mitigating factor. A random 17-year-old isn't waiting till month 8 or 9 to abort a baby. Denying those resources to people who legitimately need them for medical reasons is dumb. You can have a moral disagreement about it but are laws aren't Christian laws. We shouldn't be basing policy on a document that is over 2000 years old.

We base it on a document that’s 236 years old all the time (Supposedly) and while God isn’t mentioned in the US constitution he shows up nearly 200 times in State Constitutions. He’s in all 50.

Yet, if you go by the Bible, no place in it is abortion regarded as the murder of a human being. I have no problem, though, with the bible story in which a man was fined for causing a woman to have an abortion.

Trump is foolish to run again. There's never been a political figure that's been hated more than him, and his presence on the ballot will draw a massive turnout of voters that will vote against him. Him running is wasting the GOP's time.

I’m saying we’re a nation built on Judeo-Christian beliefs, so don’t be surprised when those beliefs come into play.

That’s my belief as well, but it’s pretty remarkable how well he’s doing. I’m not sure the hate vote will come out in force like it did last time. If the Democrats would run anyone but Biden (or Hillary) it would be a guaranteed slaughter.

Tennessee Republican Introduces Bill to Ban Medication Abortion Nationwide

The Result of this introduction of the bill to ban access to the Abortion Pill nationwide then prompted 27 Moderate GOP to join with Dems in voting AGAINST the FDA, Agriculture and Rural Development

Republican moderates stymie McCarthy on agriculture, FDA bill

House Republicans failed to pass legislation to fund Agriculture, Rural Development and the Food and Drug Administration late Thursday night after more than two dozen moderate Republicans came out against a provision that would limit access to an abortion pill.

The chamber voted down the measure in a 191-237 vote, with 27 Republicans joining all Democrats in opposition.

The failed vote marks a setback for Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who has been working to clear fiscal year 2024 appropriations bills ahead of the Sept. 30 government funding deadline.

Passing the agriculture legislation — or the other 11 appropriations bills — would not help Congress fund the government and avoid a shutdown by Saturday’s midnight deadline, but House GOP leaders are hoping that the consideration of the single-subject funding measures will help sway hardline conservatives to support a stopgap bill to keep the lights on in Washington past the weekend deadline.

Hillary who had almost 3 million more votes than don? Biden who had 7 million more votes??

That would wreck several politicians' ideas about running for gov
You mean Walters and Drummond and Treat? I bet Mullin would easily win against a Democrat even though he is pro-life with no exceptions. It would be interesting to see how Mullin would do in the primary with well-known Republicans. I'd much rather see Drummond get the Republican nomination.

I think Mullin voted yes on a 45-day stopgap funding bill approved by Congress to avoid shutting down the government for now. Far right Republicans don't approve of it.

The current repubs would stand no chance against Mullin, the only one that might is McCall

Absolutely! Americans made their feelings about ol Hil very well known, and Biden’s age and cognitive slips could sway some voters. It may sway them to stay home, but still.

If they nominate anyone other than Trump I will be worried. If Trump doesn't get the nomination I could see a Republican winning simply because people will breathe a sigh of relief that it isn't him and not care. I would vote for a vegetable before I voted for Trump.

So Biden then?

Former CoS John Kelly has gone on the record and confirmed what everyone has attributed to him regarding Trump. He is using the military, evangelicals and disenfranchised to grift/avoid legal responsibilities.

If the election were today and you believe all the polls he would win...and big...so from a pure winning perspective it isn't foolish. This is shaping up to be another tragic election for America. A senile man that isn't mentally competent to manage a gas station with mountains of smoke surrounding his family and a megalomaniac who we have already seen cares about self and will be so scary dangerous in a second term it's hard to think about. Talk about a revenge tour....he'll burn the world to hurt enemies not caring one bit what it does to America.

But neither party has any competition. I haven't seen much data on how Biden stacks up against anyone but Trump but if Trump isn't in jail he is going to run away with primary so it doesn't matter. RFK is a pretty good candidate to me...and the only other Dem.... but the Dems always stack the deck for who they want and it's clear they don't want him. Given a fair shake he might beat Trump but he won't get the chance. If he runs on his own he hurts Biden more so how is it foolish to run if you're Trump? DeSantis had a moment but he has gone off the deep end trying to sway Trumpers his way that can't be swayed....Vivek ain't gonna win.... Haley ain't gonna win.....Pence is a non-starter....Christie can't take the hint...Trump has double digit lead on Biden and 40 point lead on DeSantis. Not asking if it's good for America....neither of them are....but simply from a "what are my chances" aspect he is in the drivers seat.
