2023 College Baseball Showdown

I'm not paying for Flo. What exactly happened?
Said he wasn’t in the box ready to hit with 10 seconds left on clock. So it was strike 3. He was in box. Ready to hit is debatable but the pitcher wasn’t even on the rubber. Meanwhile 2 innings ago their pitcher threw over to first about 10 times. So tell me which slows the game down more.

In my opinion it’s a terrible rule. Show me one person that thinks the game is too long because hitters aren’t getting in the box fast enough. There’s a pitch clock if you aren’t ready by the time he throws it’s on the hitter. Also, they ruled a no pitch on us because we went took quick. So they will have to find a middle ground.

Nolan McLean to the mound looking for the save

Mizzou has 8, 9, and 1 in the order due up

Single to CF on 0-2 pitch
Strikeout swinging. Didn't mess around that time. High fastball.
Strikes out their best hitter with high fastball.
Fly out to left center

Cowboys win 5-3 and are undefeated

Nice win Cowboys! Good to see timely hitting early on, after that a lot of nothing.

Bullpen showed out! Nothing wrong with an opening day W!

Josh in postgame:

said all of the pitchers were "awesome"

liked the play defensively, considering the roof and unique ballpark

liked the big inning, said some guys are "overcompeting" and that executing at the plate is a "learned skill" and will take some time

strikeout total was high, but that's to be expected (?), they have great pitchers

need to work on situational baseball. mentioned the "wonderful rule"with Nolan in the box but not ready to hit.

Proud of the team, time to recover, "that's the most we've been on our feet together in a long time"

Said some really good players (Meola, others) didn't get to play today but will soon
