I did read the rules and that s how the conference interpreted them when they clarified it. Maybe it went over your head.

Link it and prove it. No where does it talke about "win percentage". What the Big 12 clarified is that in a 3+ team tie if one team has beaten every other team in the group of tied then that counts as a head to head tie breaker and there is no need to go to step 2 in the tie breakers. We never played UT so we could not have head to head over all the teams in a tie breaker that included UT. That means it goes to step 2.

Obviously it is irrelevant now, but that is they way it would have worked if UT had lost. It would have gone to step 2 and if ISU beat KSU today we would have been screwed. Here's the specifics of what the Big 12 said:

Now that UT has won, all of this is moot. If we beat BYU we are in. If we lose then it is OU vs UT. Simple as that.
