Cowboys at Wildcats

We have two starting pitchers, and a bullpen full of guys that can go an inning or two. Don't know how far that will get us in postseason.

If KSU gets the sweep today, they move ahead of us in the standings. We would be 25-15 and 10–8 and they would be 25–14 and 10–8 with a sweep over us. I’ve seen this movie play out before with Josh‘s teams. We’re going to end up being a two or three seed likely in the Fayetteville regional playing DBU in the first game and we will go two and Q like we usually do in the Holliday era.

It struck me today that Josh while definitely not equivalent to Boynton, is pretty darn close to the equivalent of Travis Ford. Travis would usually underachieve but squeak us into the NCAA or NIT tournament and promptly lose the first game. Travis had talent on his teams but never could coach them beyond mediocrity. Sound familiar?
Ehh I don't disagree he's underachieved, especially given the talent on his rosters. But calling him a baseball Travis Ford isn't fair. He's taken a team to Omaha (and was within a game of the title series), been to supers 3 times, and hosted regionals I wanna say 3 times (maybe im forgetting 1 or 2?). The only year we barely squeaked into the tourney was 2017 when we had to and did win the Big 12 tournament. That track record hardly qualifies as Ford level of barely squeaking in most years and only ever winning 1 tourney game his whole tenure.

Agree. Josh made it to the equivalent of the Final Four. He's had the big time success, but I would say most of his teams have not met expectations.
