Who Should OSU Hire as Next Basketball Head Coach?

Under no circumstances should be coaching at OSU. I’d rather let an assistant finish out the season in the event that happens…like I said no more gimmicks!!!

His younger brother, Jai, is also a very well regarded assistant. He is currently at Duke but has stops at Texas, and Kentucky before.
Regardless of who the HC is, maybe we could get a great ambasador for the school. Someone with ties to OSU that can build relationships with our current roster and might come on the cheap. Boynton?!?!?
I kid, but he would be a great assistant and will be for a lucky school somewhere.

We do need to be committed to basketball though.
The coach needs to have a plan. This is Weiberg’s first big hire. I have confidence in him thus far.
It’s okay to go in the financial hole temporarily; if you’re able to grow the program. If the main caveat is a cheap coach - I believe we’re in the wrong conference for that mindset.
The basketball attendance/ atmosphere would be better with different packages; logistically, it’s damn near impossible to sell out a non marquee weekday game.
Fill those up with local kids families- cheap tix for people in zip codes from 30 miles out. Build a culture. Make student tickets cheaper during the week.
I feel the move to Ticketmaster also helped kill a chunk of the environment at the games. Working in the ticket office is a great internship opportunity for students working in sports management.
Weekend games should be full and rocking.

I'm not sure how you can say that. I don't remember specifics, but I thought I remembered our region being universally called the hardest. We even got screwed on the seeding that year as pretty much everyone had us as a three and we ended up getting a 4.Except it was our region and set up perfectly for us to make a run…….we didn’t.
I know Byington's, the James Madison head coach, BIL pretty well. Talked to him yesterday. Byington is an East Coast guy, he won't be considering any job that's not semi-local to his roots.
And for the talk as to where our job ranks in relation to the open jobs, we're absolutely behind Ohio State, Michigan, and Louisville due to money money and money. But we're still the next most attractive job in my opinion due to being a Big 12 job with solid facilities, history, and other factors. We'll hire a good coach, just stay patient.
