Oklahoma is going backwards

Day 1 cowards in Sen GOP Leadership hang Lankford out to dry. Comments to Lankford’s social media posts are not kind at best and show the worst with what’s wrong with the US today.

Day 2 Walters drafts and sends letter to individual members of OK congressional delegation regarding the southern border and the debacle that just happened.

Day 3 a.m. Walters issues video of faux outrage to an easy target of most Oklahomans including those Center or center left.

Day 3 p.m. Walters’ letter from Day 2 is made public and it’s clear young Ryan is positioning himself in case Lankford doesn’t run or the Magastanians actually show enough strength against Lankford tht Walters thinks he has a chance.

Walters is a Marjorie Taylor Green who pees standing up. (I realize I’m out on a limb on this one as I could be wrong w the party of the 1st part or the party of the 2nd part).
Do reptiles urinate or do they just excrete?

Yea that’s a slap in the face to all the hard working lizard people of the world. Mark Zuckerberg would be so hurt to hear about your insensitive feelings. You know if lizards had feelings…
I apologize to all the Komodo dragons, Gila monsters and pit vipers out there for my specious comparison of them to Ryno

A radio station is now playing Beyoncé's country song after an outcry from fans npr

An Oklahoma-based radio station said it is now playing Beyoncé's new country single, "Texas Hold 'Em," after its initial move to not play the song drew quick criticism from fans over what they perceive to be narrow-mindedness.

A fan said he emailed KYKC requesting the song, and received the following response: "Hi — we do not play Beyonce on KYKC as we are a country music station."

He posted a screenshot of the reply on the social media platofrm X, formerly Twitter, late Tuesday morning. The post went viral, and the "Beyhive," the term used to describe Beyonce's fans, swarmed to make additional requests for "Texas Hold 'Em," one of two country songs Beyoncé released on Super Bowl Sunday.

A few hours later, KYKC then posted an image of their show schedule, which showed the song in a 2:28 p.m. time slot.

"Lots of calls coming in for Beyoncé's Texas Hold 'Em," the caption said. "It's coming up in minutes."

KYKC replied to several comments under the post saying it issued its initial response because they did not yet have access to the song. It also said local listeners "did not really want us to play it."

"I've heard R&B stations play Adele, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake with no problem and didn't tell them 'Oh we not playing their music because XYZ'," one user said. "The same grace needs to be given when black musicians decided to pursue another genre of music [i.e.] country."

"Totally agree. ... we love Beyonce'...we didn't even have the song," the station replied.

KYKC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In a more extensive statement to The Tennessean, Roger Harris, the general manager of Southern Central Oklahoma Radio Enterprises (S.C.O.R.E.) said, "We are a small market station. We're not in a position to break an artist or help it that much, so it has to chart a little bit higher for us to add it. But we love Beyoncé here. We play her on our [other top 40 and adult hits stations] but we're not playing her on our country station yet because it just came out."

Similar backlash ensued in 2019 when artist Lil Nas X released "Old Town Road," which blended elements of rap and country. Initially, the song charted on Billboard's Hot 100, Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. But the publication later removed the song from the country chart, claiming it did not have enough elements of country music. The decision was criticized by country mainstay Billy Ray Cyrus, who was later featured on the remix.

As of 7:19 p.m. Tuesday, the station commented on Facebook that it had already played "Texas Hold 'Em" twice.

'Disturbing attack': Committee advances bill prohibiting birth certificate sex amendments okcfox

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — On Tuesday, the Oklahoma House General Government Committee advanced a bill that aims to prohibit sex amendments on birth certificates in Oklahoma.

Nicole McAfee, the executive director of the LGBT advocacy group Freedom Oklahoma, asserted the legislation would make an already difficult situation for trans-identifying Oklahomans even worse.

The advocate noted the proposal would bar "anyone ever born in Oklahoma, regardless of where they live now, from having their Oklahoma birth certificate amended to correctly reflect their gender identity... [it's] just an unnecessary and frankly disturbing attack."

State Rep. Kevin West (R-Moore) is pushing back—and argued that his bill clarifies murky questions that can come up in court.

According to him, even if an Oklahoman gets a court order approving such a change, there's no mechanism for the state health department to act on it.

"It's just being open and transparent with the citizens of Oklahoma, giving clear direction to our courts... affirming what the health department already has," he explained.

He added the measure would prevent Oklahomans from going through a lengthy legal process just to get turned down by the health department.

"You get a ruling. You think you've... got this, and then you find out, oh, it's something that the state can't even do," he shared.

According to McAfee, "There are already so many barriers in place for trans folks to get documents that accurately reflect who we are."

In 2022, the Oklahoma governor signed a bill into law preventing the nonbinary "X" designation on birth certificates.

In 2023, the governor also signed a bill into law banning gender transition services for minors.

For a party that builds its platform on individual freedoms and less government meddling, they sure are doing a lot of taking away individual freedoms and doing a lot of government meddling. I guess that platform only exists for the things they agree with though.

Ryan Walters put the person who runs this account on the committee to determine what kind of books, videos and Media Content Oklahoma Children have access to in schools.

This is the person Ryan Walters thinks should have a say in what materials your Kids get to view / use in Oklahoma School Class Rooms

HINT.

The shooter was NOT LGBTQ and actually has an extensive history speaking out against LGBTQ
The shooter was NOT transgender and was going through a messy divorce from her husband and had her biological child with her at the time of the shooting
She was EXTREMELY anti Jewish...but Raichik claims this person was a Bernie Support and Bernie is Jewish and has said he is "Proud to Be Jewish"
She was a LEGAL immigrant
She purchased the gun Legally
She had several run ins and issues with police and had even been involuntarily detained and institutionalized for mental issues in the past several years

She was a diagnosed schizophrenic who was being treated and on medication for the condition.

Chaya Raichik, who goes by Libs of TikTok online, also called Moreno a “trans terrorist” and asked, “What kind of hormones and drugs was she on? … Leftists ‘affirm’ gender dysphoria rather than treat the root cause which is mental illness.”

Raichik then posted a list of mass shootings that were supposedly perpetrated by trans and nonbinary people, although she included the Club Q shooter, who started identifying as nonbinary after he had been arrested for killing five people in a mass shooting at the LGBTQ+ venue.

Sounds like an example where red flag laws may have prevented it. People with mental health issues need to not have access to firearms. I just lost a coworker who was dealing with PTSD and depression to murder suicide, he shouldn't have had access to the gun and if he didn't (and his Dr didn't keep canceling appointments) 3 people would still be alive.

But surely, Republican gun rights supporters would tell you they are against red flag laws because it's mentally ill people who most need the use of guns under the 2nd Amendment to defend themselves because they may be threatened right back in return with gun violence.

I doubt Republicans worry much that just because a person happens to own a gun that he may use it to kill himself with it and other people.

If you want red flag laws in Oklahoma, then you're going to have to feel strongly enough about it to do a petition for a yes or no vote on the issue. Hopefully, Republican legislators during this session don't make it harder than before to get the required number of signatures. Republican legislators don't appreciate the fact that Oklahomans voted against legalizing rec marijuana by a large margin.

Missouri as #1 on that list is not scocking....East St Louis is the Most dangerous city in America for people of color and has been since the 80's!!

if you want a very eye opening look on that entire situation of East St Louis I would HIGHLY suggest Kozol's "Savage Inequalities" that detail his personal experience with the city, region, economics, policy making, policing, education.

It is truly a shocking

In any population when you deny resources to that population what happens? The members of that population fight tooth and nail for whatever is available. Look at the battles that happen in shopping malls over black Friday deals and the new "it" toy. Now imagine that is access to food, water, medical care, or homes. America has denied resources to minority classes through slavery, segregation, and systemic racism for over 200 years and we are shocked that the kill each other over turf and those few scant resources that are available to them?

Let's say that the Civil Rights Act cured racism. Systemic racism doesn't exist in 2024. They are still 200 years behind in a race they were never given a fair chance to run in the first place. How hard is it to break a 150+ cycle of violence and oppression?

Wonder if that is why there is so much disagreement between stats on who commits gun related homicide vs mass shootings.

Mass shooting stats
