WTF happened in 1971?

I haven't vetted this pile of charts and I suspect that there is some fitting the data to the theory. Nonetheless, I found much of it interesting.

 
Around about the time we decoupled the dollar from gold.

I think the M2 would tell a story as well. Slow steady growth and money supply would make it more difficult to consolidate at the top. Once the booms and busts become more frequent and happen faster, boy howdy those with the means can make a lot fast.
 
That’s where my gold standard stuff stops. I don’t adhere to the conspiracy that it was all a big plan for a new world order or whatever. I think exiting the gold standard was a fiscal policy choice that made sense but had many many unintended consequences.

And it’s only a small part of the story.

Globalization, technology, 50% of the population entering the work force en masse greatly increasing the supply of labor (yes I’m talking about women).

My first thought was "the gold standard drop happened in 1971", didn't even need to look at the charts. (But then I did anyway because I'm a nerd).
