What's the best show to binge on right now?

If you are not easily offended Righteous Gemstones on Max.It isn’t close to a family show so make sure no kiddos are around.

It’s a weird comedy but the characters are pretty good. Uncle Baby Billy is awesome.

I am a fan of Danny McBride - East Bound & Down, Vice Principals, and Foot Fist Way...good stuff.

Another show we enjoyed recently was Lucifer. If you claim Christianity I suggest watching it from a mythological and not biblical perspective. Didn’t realize until I read up on things from the show that apart from the Bible there is actually a Jewish mythology. Which makes sense given it’s geography and influence from Greeks and Romans. Also helps explain if you don’t take the Bible literally why certain things are in the Bible or got written the way they did.

So don’t watch it and think “I’m going to hell for this”. Watch it and think it’s from Jewish mythology no different than Greek or Roman mythology and then read up on Jewish mythology.

I think it’s season 2 or 3 that gets a little long w several throw away episodes but all in all a good watch.

The writer of the comic books that this show is based upon....Neil Gaiman....is Jewish.

McBride said they are not mocking religion but simply pointing out the hypocrisy of some church leaders/televangelists that are more grifters than they are men of God.
I was way ok w the mocking. Interestingly there was a redemption in each season.

Has anyone seen Exploding Kittens, a Netflix cartoon with Tom Ellis as Godcat?

The Bear is a cinematic masterpiece.

Great writing, acting and production.

I still wouldn’t call it a comedy though.

The Studio on Apple is an entertaining Hollywood insider type comedy from Seth Rogan. Hilarious through the episodes thus far.

Zero Day with DeNiro on Netflix is a good watch, though I’m only about 3 episodes in.

Mobland on Paramount with Pierce Brosnan and Tom Hardy is a good Irish mob series so far.

There’s so many series out there to stream that I lose track of em. If I finish these 3 I’ll consider it a win!😜

Apple TV has been great so far. Besides the ones mentioned above Shrinking and Mythic Quest are both good watches. Shrinking has Harrison Ford and Jason Segal. Mythic Quest has Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day's fingerprints all over it (Always Sunny)

Lawman:Bass Reeves (Paramount+) was good. Made me continually lookup people, events, places. Interesting that some believe Bass Reeves (black Marshall) was the inspiration for the Lone Ranger. Also, for Pokes fans some of the people would have certainly/definitely (Judge Parker) crossed paths w our own Frank Eaton. This was supposed to be a series w each season focused on a different person. Would be cool to see one on Frank Eaton.

Andor(Disney+) S2 was a good watch if you’re a Star Wars fan. Little slow in the beginning but back half was good. If you like Rogue One and are nostalgic for Ep4 A New Hope the Andor series is good. I actually think Rogue One is some of the best content for Star Wars.

Last of Us(Max) S2 was really good. Really good story telling and acting.

Daredevil: Born Again (D+) was good especially if you like those parts of Marvel.

Righteous Gemstones(Max)S4 had moments. Ep1 could lead to a series of its own. Kid who played Jesse as a teenager was phenomenal. Overall it was probably best to conclude the series.

Nightwatch(Netflix)S2 was good but not as good as S1.

Landman(Paramount)S1 was fun. Being from the industry you could see people you worked w in the characters and while some of it is embellished parts you would think were “made for tv” actually weren’t that far off.

Black Doves S1 on Netflix was ok. Very predictable w a lot of plot or strategy holes.

The Recruit(Netflix) S2 was good but not as good as S1. If you haven’t watched S1 then it’s an easy binge of both seasons as they stack the timeline.

Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix) S3 is entertaining. If you like the series it doesn’t disappoint.

Skelton Crew(D+) S1 is an ok Star Wars series. Doesn’t advance any Star Wars story and is basically the Goonies w Star Wars lore.

Running Point(Netflix) S1 was entertaining w some funny moments.

Nobody Wants This (Netflix) was pretty funny.
