WH hints of military invasion of Venezuela

lol…a friend of mine says tRump is going great things for America, that he’s a Christian, and he never lies…
A native Valenzuelan friend of mine… know a guy that is a native of that country… well that certainly sells me! LOL!!

Here is a native Venezuelan's take.

"As a Venezuelan, I can say this plainly: much of the left leaning media is going to aggressively twist this story. What needs to be understood is that when the bombs fell, they struck only military bases and an international airport that had already been closed, with all international flights suspended.

Many Venezuelans did not panic, they cheered from their homes when they saw the helicopters. This was not random or uninformed support. Roughly 75% of Venezuelans voted for María Corina Machado, backing her platform and her openly stated plan to pursue cooperation with the United States, including the possibility of U.S. intervention, to remove Nicolás Maduro from power in exchange for reopening Venezuela to free trade.

This was a calculated choice. Venezuela has resources the United States wants, and the United States has the leverage and support Venezuela needs. It was a path we knowingly chose, fully aware of the risks involved.

Love it or hate it, do not accept the narrative at face value. This was not imposed on us. We chose this path."
Trump administration has dismissed Mara Corina Machado (which according to the post 75% of Venezuelans support) as a potential leader of the country.

IMO, he wants a puppet and she wouldn’t be a puppet.

It's about oil. Trump literally told us it's about oil.

Yep. Know a guy who is a native of that country. No idea on his politics or how he feels about the former regime until today but based on what he posted on Facebook removing that man from power is a good thing. If someone who understands the politics of Venezuela way better than I do is in support of this then Im going to be cool with it too.

I have serious reservations about the administration acting without congressional action or attacking boats in the middle of the ocean just because but if this ultimately benefits the people of Venezuela then its a good thing.
Good riddance to Maduro. I don’t give a crap about what happens to him.

I’m not so sure the ends justify the means though.

The Venezuelan regime was a dysfunctional nightmare unless you were an insider or chosen one.

Whether the reasoning or right of the US to do this was correct or not, there is an extremely high chance this ends up better for the people of Venezuela in the long run.
Agreed.

The kind the Venezuelan people, you know, actually cast 70% of their votes for.

Democracy over tyranny...
Except the folks that ousted Maduro have proclaimed the candidate that got 70% of the Venezuelan votes for ain’t gonna be the leader.

No wonder why. I saw it said where Trump thinks he better secure an alternative supply of oil in case his next attack on Iran cuts him off from Mideast oil. But it's best to have your own adequate source of energy within your own borders. Hitler sure didn't.

She also stole his Nobel last year. Never forget how vindictive he is.

It's about a lot more than just oil.

It's about a Central Bank (Venezuela was one of the few countries without it), oil, and rare earth minerals. China was beginning to meddle here in the western hemisphere, which is a no no, per the Monroe Doctrine. China is also going to take Taiwan. China having both would have disastrous impact on the economy. So, the US/Israel had to beat the Chinese to punch.

Agree. There’s a significant counter-China element to all of this.
