I have never been in the military, but I read somewhere else from someone who has been in the military that they would expect the commanding officer for these guys won't be as lenient as Hegseth. They may not be suspended, but they are screwed. I hope that is the case. I just can't imagine someone in the military taking it upon themselves to do something like this and not face any punishment.
No, with the SecDef defending them, nothing will happen overtly. Too risky for the commanding officer
But, if the commanding officer is a real officer and not a MAGA head too, all it takes in the military is an OPR that states something like "Functions well in role as helicopter pilot" instead of "Outstanding pilot! Go to guy!" to sink a career. That is what I think will happen, if anything.

Just finished listening to oral arguments in Trump v. Barbara (birthright citizenship case) before US SCOTUS.
My impression is that there is a solid majority (Brown, Roberts, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Gorsuch) that will hold Trump's executive order unconstitutional or at least unlawful under 8 USC 1401.
I think that five will find it unconstitutional as violative of the 14th Amendment.
I have an impression from their line of questioning that Kavanaugh and Barrett will at least concur in the result with that majority but may avoid reaching the constitutional basis for upholding the lower court decision by relying on statute.
Alito will support the EO as lawful and constitutional. Thomas rarely says a word or asks a question during oral argument, but when he does he shows his hand glaringly. He will vote with Alito based upon his few questions he did have today.
So my prediction is 7-2 reaffirming the lower court decision invalidating Trumps EO.
I think I'm right in that. I sure as hell I hope I am right.
