US continues to go backward...

He certainly wasn't afraid to take center stage and confront the pastor.
Yes, he said, I am here covering this as a journalist. His question to the pastor on staff was "do you know why they were here?"

He also said something to the effect of: "when you look at the protesters and you look at the people worshipping, if these two groups could get together they might figure out what to do."

Then he went on to explain how the pastor should have handled it. Do you think Don Lemon would have been there if it was right wingers disrupting a church?

Don Lemon? No not him. But a right wing act of civil disobedience is not going to call in a left leaning jounalist. They would call in Benny Johnson or some other right wing podcaster. Someone that is more likely to give them a sympathetic angle.

Precisely.
No, not at all. Being present and asking questions doesn't make him part of the event. If a journalist covers a military invasion, are they part of the invasion by asking questions and reporting what is going on? Are they viewed as combatants in international law?

The same applies here. It is just the latest attack on journalists/journalism from the trump admin.

Judge threw out all charges against Lemon for exactly those reasons. And I'm OK with that. Should all charges be dismissed against the protestors who interrupted the service?

The charges brought against them? Yes, absolutely.

At most this should have been a trespassing charge since they were on private property and didn't leave when asked. Civil disobedience isn't always legal, but is always non-violent.

Trumping up charges because it was effective and spoke to that pastors double life is why they are being hit with outlandish and authoritarian charges. Charging black people with a law designed to go after the KKK on MLK day is....something.

He wasn't the only person charged, just the only person of color.

I Do GIF by MOODMAN

If he knew it was going to happen, I absolutely believe he would have been there to document and report on it.

His reporting angle may have been different than it was in this situation.

Wow!!!!

Former DC Police officer Michael Fanone and MAGA Ivan Raiklin got into a heated argument at the Jack Smith hearing. Fanone can be heard saying, “you threatened to rape my children. You sick b*stard.”
