Pentagon Scrambles To Create Rules On Possible Use Of Force By Marines At LA Protests
According to a U.S. official, troops will be armed with their normal service weapons but will not be carrying tear gas.

Hey @Rob B.

What would you prefer national guard members be doing in LA right now? If they are just hanging out and not really doing anything that's a good thing right?
I'd prefer people grow tf up and quit acting like thugs and criminals so there would be no need for military presence. But that ship has sailed. Now when the Marines come in and clean house I'll get to listen to how the pyromaniacs were treated so cruelly.

Is there really a need for a military presence though?

Remember those people you claim were prosecuted for being involved in Jan 6th by being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Is it fair to put people like them in harms way just because a few hooligans who are gonna get arrested by local authorities want to break stuff?

And where do you draw the line? At what point does a lawful protest get to the point where the president overrides local authorities and calls in troops? This isn't the first time the military has been used for domestic purposes. 2 minutes on Google and it isn't even the first time its happened in LA in our lifetime (Rodney King). But its usually reserved for a pretty extreme situation that goes well beyond what local authorities can handle. This doesn't seem to be that though.

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass @mayorofla : "When the administration started, he talked about violent criminals, drug dealers. How do you go from drug dealers to chasing people through the parking lot of a Home Depot where there's day laborers working, just trying to survive?"

Sure, Tucker “mostly peaceful” Carlson. Ignore the Molotov cocktails, the multiple stores being looted, taxis set afire, and police car burned.

It’s “just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn”. Nothing to see here.
As it pertains to honesty and hypocrisy, there is no difference between MAGA and the far left.

BTW, the narrative for the left should be on Trump overstepping and calling in the Guard. Most everyone, except MAGA, agrees that was way over the top. Not by trying to tell people it is sunny when it is raining.
I watched a documentary on the 92 LA Riots. And the thing I remember most out of that is a black man screaming at his neighbors who are tearing everything within sight to pieces to stop. Like this dude was screaming with all of his heart at them to stop, this is not the way to accomplish what we want. I agree violence is not the answer. But unfortunately we haven't seemed to have found a way to accomplish too many things as humans without resorting to violence. It also appears the violence in this case, as in most through history, is coming from both sides.

They are not equal.

And that is the problem. People that take sides seem to think their crap stinks less than the other. If a right-wing apologist and a left-wing apologist were each showed both photos, both would claim “it’s different”. Instead of just admitting they are both bad.

The top picture is a masked guy waving a Mexican flag performing donuts around a burning car during violent protests in front of police with billowing smoke in the background.

The bottom picture is also a masked guy, but now carrying a Confederate flag. The only violence in the picture are people obnoxiously looking at their phones.

You and I probably agree on which flag is worse. If there were two stores side-by-side and one had a Mexican flag on it and the other a Confederate flag…one of the stores I would not even think twice about before entering and one I would not enter. (I would not be caught around a Confederate flag even though as a kid I watched the Dukes of Hazzard and never once thought about it back then.)

But with exception of the particular flags, the context of each photo is important.

They are not equal.
Agreed. The thing people are conveniently forgetting is that there were two days of peaceful protest before Sundays debacle, and in those days of peaceful protest, we still had ICE:
1) Assaulting protesters including the SEIU president who was doing nothing except recording ICE ~5 to 6 feet away from them.
2) Use of chemical munitions, flash bangs, rubber bullets and other less lethal ordinances on people peacefully protesting.

So two full days of ICE and government violence before some people went overboard on Sunday--after Trump had already announced calling in the national guard. That is a hell of a lot more restraint than what we are seeing out of professional government officials.

And on Sunday, they still were outdone by law enforcement's wanton violence trampling multiple people with horses, shooting journalists with rubber bullets and pepperballs, and continuing to assault peaceful protesters, etc.

But with exception of the particular flags, the context of each photo is important.
Sorry here some context for the photos with some more of them flags

Trump and all his minions LOST all credibility to complain about protestors or Violent protesting or Waiving Flags or ANY of that CRAP on Jan 6th. Especially after Trump Pardoned ALL of them.
