US continues to go backward...

Laura Loomer flew to India — a country with 204 million Muslims — and told the audience Islam is a cancer on the world.

An Indian journalist responded with the University of Maryland terrorism database and the US State Department’s own numbers. 428 times more Americans die from gun violence than all terrorism combined.

Loomer: Obama manipulated those statistics.

University of Florida Federation of College Republicans group disbanded after students give Nazi salute

The University of Florida’s College Republicans chapter was disbanded after a finding that some of its members had violated a statewide organization’s rules, including making an antisemitic gesture.

The university said over the weekend that the Florida Federation of College Republicans had disbanded the chapter and asked school officials to deactivate it as a registered student organization while it seeks new leadership for the group.

“The University of Florida has emphatically supported its Jewish community and remains committed to preventing and addressing antisemitism and other forms of discrimination and harassment,” the school said in a statement. “The university also supports the rights of organizations, such as the FFCR, to take decisive action in addressing conduct that is antithetical to its principles.”

University of Florida College Republicans did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday. But the group posted on social media that the action came 48 hours after members hosted a well-attended candidate event on campus for James Fishback, who is running as a Republican for governor in the state.

The group said that the federation does not have authority over the chapter and that participants are members of College Republicans of America. This is not the first time, the group wrote, “that FFCR has lied to silence christian conservative groups on campus.”

The Florida Federation of College Republicans, College Republicans of America and Fishback did not immediately respond to requests for comment Monday.

But on social media, Fishback called it a disgusting attack on the First Amendment and said he stands with University of Florida College Republicans “and any student group (on the right or left) whose free speech rights are under threat.”

He also wrote that as governor, he would “end the insidious cancel culture at our public, taxpayer-funded universities that has infringed on the free speech of College Republicans, Students for Justice in Palestine, and other student groups.” He retweeted someone who said that Florida would be the first state to jail people for “antisemitic speech” if he is not elected.

This is horrific.
I'm concerned about the Long term repercussions of Trump's presidency. There's always been abuses, there's always been people getting away with things or wastefulness and stupid decisions but the lack of accountability is setting up this society for anarchy and chaos.

I don't believe anyone expects a politician to be perfect and there will be some waste fraud and abuse, but this just unashamed grifting has gone too far and I am concerned these same abusers of authority will not have their day in court.

This is horrific.

Yeah. If we end up with troops in Iran do we really think we will have any local support after they see how we are treating Afghans who helped us the last 20 years? And that falls on the feet of this administration.

And then there is this:

Paktyawal is at least the 12th person this year to die in ICE custody under President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown, compared with more than 30 last year, the highest in two decades.

42 people who died in ICE custody? I don't understand how everyone-left, right, pro life, everyone-isn't demanding answers for this.

How did this guy pass the US Capitol Police background check with multiple Felonies !!??!

Rep. Jasmine Crockett confirms member of her security team killed by Dallas police

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, confirmed Monday that a man killed by Dallas police in a standoff last week had worked as security for her, calling it “a tragic ending that we wish had been avoided for all.”

Crockett said in a statement that Dallas Police confirmed “the death of a member of our security team,” adding that “we are saddened and shocked by some of the concerning revelations.”

Police said during a news conference after the shooting of 39-year-old Diamon Robinson that he had “multiple felony warrants” and a parole violation warrant. The warrants were for impersonating a police officer and for stolen license plates, NBC Dallas Fort Worth reported.

Police followed Robinson into a hospital parking lot Wednesday, NBC Dallas Fort Worth reported. He then barricaded himself in his car until police used tear gas to make him come out, and then pulled a weapon, authorities said. Officers then shot and killed Robinson.

Crockett, who has been a member of Congress since 2023, said that Robinson went by the name Mike King when he worked for her. She said that her team “followed all protocols outlined by the House to contract additional security,” adding that they had been approved to hire the man they knew as Mike King.

“The fact that an individual was able to somehow circumvent the vetting processes for something as sensitive as security for members of Congress highlights the loopholes and shortcomings in many of our systems,” Crockett said. “This is incredibly alarming, especially for those members who receive high volumes of credible and sophisticated death threats.”

Crockett added that Robinson’s ability to circumvent the congressional system’s security hiring loopholes was a reason for U.S. Capitol Police to provide security to Congress members.

U.S. Capitol Police did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Crockett’s statement or on the man’s death.

DOJ drops work experience requirements for new attorneys after purges

Staffing shortages at the Department of Justice, which have plagued the organization for the last year, have led officials to drop minimum experience requirements for job openings to attract talent fresh out of law school.

The DOJ told U.S. attorney offices earlier this month that a one-year experience requirement for new hires would be suspended “due to an exigent hiring need for attorneys across the Department”, according to a memo seen by Bloomberg Law.
