It feels like he was trolling? I know someone earlier said speculation over his motives early in the investigation is gross but this raises a bunch of questions. If you gave me a description of him a week ago I would think he would have been one of the guys cheering Kirk on.

I wonder what the odds are that this was a false flag operation on his own part and he just got really unlucky and hit Kirk?

Yeah, it seems that there was a terminally online/trolling aspect to it. I don't think it was a false flag at this point, there has to be evidence of that.

I'm curious that now it is clear he is not a prototypical "leftist" and is fairly mixed with a decent amount of right coded attributes what happens with the national narrative. Will it go away relatively quickly? Or will people try to keep pinning it on their political enemies?

He confessed to his dad and his dad was the one who took him into custody after his family recognized him from the photos and confronted him ..his dad is a 27 yr sheriff dept veteran

The false flag was speculation on my part. Im just trying to wrap my head around why some typical white conservative kid would shoot someone he normally would look up to as a hero.

I hope hes 100% honest with the cops. Also I wonder if the state will still seek the death penalty? It was easy to say when there were questions about who the shooter was but now that its someone the people screaming loudest about it will see as one of them?

I honestly think that's trivializing the situation, and these things will keep happening until we address these issues. Was he "mentally ill"? Maybe, I'm not a Dr. Was he radicalized online? Sure seems so. Just like the shooter in Evergreen. Do a lot of these kids that are radicalized online seem to share the same values and beliefs. Sure seems so.

To continue to brush this off as only a mental health issue is disingenuous and dangerous, IMO.
