Two Minnesota state Democrats shot inside their homes by men impersonating police

Vance Boelter the suspected shooter whose current address is listed in Green Isle, Minnesota was twice appointed to the nonpartisan Governor’s Workforce Development Council in 2016 under former Governer Mark Dayton and again in 2019 under Governer Tim Walz. His most recent term expired in January 2023.

A manifesto was found with a list of other lawmakers and abortion providers on it. More to follow.

Plausible at this point. Suspect is 57 yr old who had been appointed to the MN state govt work council by the last two Gov of Minnesota (including Walz)
His FB page was public and was all anti-Trump stuff. Meta has since taken it down but his wife’s is still up (or was 30 mins or so ago) and is also all anti-Trump.

so the guy was anti-trump but also wanted to kill a bunch of dem politicians?!...makes total sense...

The guy has a doctorate and owns a security company so not surprising that he had access to law enforcement type gear.
Which makes me question a guy with credentials like this having a public Facebook page full of anti Trump rhetoric...... CEOs don't generally do that.. especially CEOs with a Doctorate..and especially those in the security contracting business

And kill abortion providers. And he was an evangelical.

But then again who knows anymore.
He does list himself as a evangelical pastor for multiple churches

I can't tell u how many far leftist evangelical pastors I've met that want to kill Dems and blow up abortion clinics ...they are everywhere

Exactly.

Isn't this the problem that @KK10 was pointing out? People are so excited as soon as something bad happens to quickly pigeon-hole the person into being a leftist or MAGA. And, sure, there are plenty of them out there.

But, there are also people who don't politically fit into one of the two molds we now expect. And they can lose it, too.

The fact that it takes a while to figure it out after the fact show that anyone can lose it. So, why exactly do we find it so important to prove the person was left/right instead of mourning the tragic loss and trying to figure out ways to stop the divisiveness?

It might make a difference if the quest for quickly determining a person's motivation for one of these acts was driven by the desire to try to prevent/solve/cure/change it. But it's painfully obvious the only driving factor in it (to the point where every possible "reason" is thrown out by both sides) is the insatiable desire to claim that "gotcha moment" and own the opposition.
Every time something like this happens, it seems everyone is in a race to show their own @ss.

Yep. The suspect is from a rural town about 90 minutes from where I live. Talking from experience in rural MN I know alot of people who think the other political party is the devil right now. No one I know is willingly looking to inflict violence on people who don't support their views though (at least I hope not). Hes a white 50something from a rural area that voted 70/30 for Trump the last election. So either he's part of the 70% and hes violently unstable or he couldn't take what we was convinced 70% of was doing to the country and is violently unstable. Either way him being willing to carry out political assassination was probably a bigger driver in his actions than who he voted for 8 months ago.

Prayers for the families of the victims. Their suffering is more important now than what the guys motivation was.

Its similar to Luigi Mangione. People off their rocker frequently don't have a coherent ideology and pick extreme views that would appear to be quite juxtopposed to most "normies".

It does when you realize said Dem politicians voted with the GOP in their state to end free medical care for illegals.
If you cross dem lines you apparently get executed in Timmy land.
you are a real POS...two people were killed...but continue to make light of it
and your information is wrong...Hoffman did not...do some research once in a while...
