I know the theme here is megathreads but I'd like this separated from the Trump thread. As much as I hate to admit it, Donald Trump is giving a masterclass on how easy it is to manipulate the public. We all claim we want honesty. We all claim to be for the truth. We all claim to want good to prevail. Yet, we have a president who lies about factual things and much of the public excuses it. We have a president that treats people in not good ways all the time and much of the public excuses it.

I'm gonna post in here each time I see someone discuss the multitude of ways that he uses tactics that manipulate the public. I'd prefer it stay on this track (cough, cough, certain poster who like to overload threads) and if boring to others please ignore.

I hate it, but find the rise of Trump really fascinating.

Mark Levin was against Trump until he was for him:

So was JD Vance.

The President told the press that congressman Neal Dunn had just months to live - before being reminded by Speaker Johnson that this information was ‘not public’.

So was Sen. Lindsey Graham until I guess money, bribery came into the picture. I knew early on that Trump wasn't right as president and never changed my mind about it. That belief started in Dec. of 2015 when I heard Trump being interviewed by Alex Jones. I thought that if this prominent man really has credibility and sound integrity, he wouldn't want anything to do with such a sorry and disgusting character as Jones. Birds of a feather flock together.

Until 2016, when he finally dropped it, Trump made a big deal over wrongly believing that Obama was not qualitied to be president because he was born in Kenya. I also could not handle a man being president who declared business bankruptcy 6 times. That is just a short list of bright red flags warning what was wrong with Trump by late 2016. For the 2016 election I thought Clinton was also less than inspiring and voted for the Libertarian as a protest vote. And again in 2020.

The poor Democrat leadership and their bad judgment largely explain why we have Trump as president today. In 2020, Biden should have never been chosen by them. The other reason to explain why Trump is president is due to many voters not having much common sense, ignorance, high gullibility, along with lack of critical thinking skills. Republicans love to prey on all that to exploit it as in Trump saying he loves the uneducated. As I have pointed out before, Trump and Jones have probably said behind their backs something like, "I can't believe how gullible they are. They believe anything I say. But, by golly, I'm going to milk them for all they're worth!".

Trump says the more he tells a lie the more likely it is to be eventually believed. When I hear a lie repeated that I know is a lie, I just take is as just more of a lie than ever before. If it is true, it doesn't need to be repeated over and over again.
