With all the other sports going on today I'll probably just listen a little and follow on gametracker unless it's close late.

Anyway, here's the game thread.

Interesting in the pregame that in addition to our dumb handling of the TCU game, their inbounder was on the line. Nothing can be done now though. Lutz said the league office didn't get back with him yet.

And why are our bigs double teaming 40 feet from the basket.

Saw first half stats from above. Guess it was just as bad 2nd half.

Holy crap what an awful loss. I only got to watch the first half. What I saw was just a lack of fundamentals, no blocking out to rebound. Very little movement on offense, getting beat off the dribble on defense. Just bad basketball. Looks like it was more of the same in the second half.

Can only hope the portal will be kind to us next year and the coach is who we thought he was.

That was as poor of an effort on defense as I’ve seen in a while. No fight to get through screens. No communication. No hedges.

We got torched from 3 bc they had wide wide open shooters.

This has been my complaint about Lutz all yr. We either don’t have the talent or commitment to run his defense and we make no adjustments. We get caught in easy screens and chase the ball ultimately giving up open 3s or we foul.

The crazy thing is this wasn’t the case early in the year. Especially with the screen game, I remember being excited the Cowboys were headging the screen and doing it well.

I get that competition increased with conference play, but my goodness it has been bad.

So much for the “still playing hard”, moral victory stuff from TCU. No excuse for getting drilled like that on your home court.

Still a few weeks to go but Lutz first season is not showing the promise we’d all hoped for, especially with a team dominated with upperclassman. He’ll get almost a whole new roster next year to work with. A little over a year from now we should be able to determine whether he is the program builder we were told or a bust. Gotta admit it stings a bit to see McCollum 23-2 at Drake. Not saying that would be his record here, but he’s probably not going to last long at Drake and will likely be highly sought after.
