TCU at OSU

Speaking of Tuesday games I heard Dave say something yesterday that caught my ear. He said it was time to drop the midweek games and go to 4 game conference series. Is this something that is being discussed? I hadn't heard that. In this day and age where money is king not having to travel in the midweek would probably save some money. Would suck for the mid major programs though.

I don't really like that idea. By game four you're really getting deep in your bullpen, and it would get pretty ugly. Today was a game three and it was 10 to 9. Midweek can be frustrating, but I think it's just part of the game.

I don't think that's really being discussed at the higher levels.

He also said make the midweek games JV only

At this point I think it's just a prompt to get Holliday back on his soap box.

Don't start in February! Play through June! No mid-week games except maybe a "JV" game! Make the conference series 4 games, not 3!

He goes into that spiel every time we host a broadcast.

Can't say I completely disagree with all of it, I just know that none of it will come to pass.

I hope not. I know many here hate them but if we are going to keep the younger players we have to let them see a future here. We need to be disciplined to the ultimate goal to the point that we can play those kids in relatively inconsequential games without losing our nerve. There was a midweek game earlier this year where I think the top three hitters for average sat so others could play. I can see exactly where Deacon, Norman, Bowman, and Ezra will play next year mostly because of those games. I hope they can.

Its home run derby time! Back to Back to Back and Pokes are on top!
I'd like to slow down and give that the celebration it deserves. Our third, fourth, and fifth hitters went back to back to back to go from down 9-6 to up 10-9 late in the deciding game of a critical series sweep. That's pretty solid.
I just heard that our game Friday at ASU is going to be on ESPN 2.

Helluva a series sweep by the Cowboys! I didn’t think they would win the series, let alone sweep. Happy to eat crow! Hopefully the good play goes on the road with them next weekend. If they can win both of the Arizona series, do they get regional host consideration?

I think they are still too far away. RPI is showing #31. Maybe if they go 7-0 down the stretch, and get far in the Big 12.
