Study: Oklahoma sixth most energy-expensive state in America

You mean the municipal power system that uses OG&E electricity and has crap local electric systems?
It’s an “all in one” kinda deal, so trash, sewer, water, electric…
Yes, they buy power from OG&E (I think) so either they are REALLY pouring it on with trash/sewer/water, or markup on power is huge.

Dude, the natural gas system is just as good as you want it to be. The wind turbines need just as much winterzation as natural gas. We are dealing with market manipulation in all forms of energy
I’m talking price

The state approved a 30 YEAR hike on prices to pay for the super freeze we had a couple years ago.....we have a 30 year price hike to pay for 1 bad winter .......what happens if we get 2-3 or 5 more rough winters ??

Approx 24,000 homes in Oklahoma use heating oil ..it is the 4th most used fuel in the state for heat generation
Thats…not very much.
What’s the spread between 1-3 vs 4 if oil is 4th? It’s still a very small piece of the pie, which is my point.

Which means it must be considered into cost ...granted it isn't large but u just can't throw out the data because it is small

Yes they did, as a means to avoid cramming the full brunt of it up the ratepayers’ collective ass. It is far from perfect, but it was a creative compromise with the consumer in mind in response to a 1 in hundreds of years weather event. The other part of this is a LOT of learning & change to try to prevent it from having that affect again, even if it may not happen.

Ok forget it, y’all carry on. I know WTF I’m talking about, but I’m done

US O&G producers have been subsidized for decades and are still being subsidized. Are you making the same claim about them?
Oklahoma’s wind subsidies are dwarfed by subsidies to the oil and gas industry

Don’t worry they are catching up

We are just at the beginning of what they are going to do to schools. The Weimuller ruling by the Oklahoma Supreme Court is going to blow this deal up. We have districts with four to five years of tax protests from wind companies that is going to be lost money

Yes, our county assessor recently spoke at Rotary and stated that, at least for our county, they have yet to receive one penny from a windfarm directly. All of the money has come from the state and the second that the incentives end the windfarms start the protest bs. Looks like it will end badly.

No looking like it is. We have bond issues that are going to go up severely in the mill ages charged. We are looking at some that will double or triple
