I agree with that too, he seemed to have alot of fadeaway or off balance shots. Needs to pick his shots betterIf he could learn his role, he'd be a great PG. He thinks he's a shooter and he's not.

Yes, I agree that his overall FG% was poor, I think he shot lower in 2 pt range than from 3. Maybe I am wrong, but I would describe him as a good shooter based on his 3 pt numbers but not a great playmaker based his poor numbers inside the arc. Shooting seems to be a strength in my judgment but shot selection and trying to create for himself inside the arc are weaknesses.Shoot better than 39% overall would be a start. That is the product of crazy fade away jumpers and dumb shots.
I agree that conference play is most important, but his season shooting average, including NIT play, is significantly lower.Yes, I agree that his overall FG% was poor, I think he shot lower in 2 pt range than from 3. He actually went 5-10 from 3 in the 2 NIT games, 3-5 against Davidson and 2-5 against Wichita State. The last 4 conference games of the regular season he was 13-27 from 3. He really struggled in the Big 12 tournament (1-9 in 2 games) but I am encouraged by the fact that his 3 point shooting numbers improved throughout the year against stiffer competition and that he finished pretty strong. He went just 9-32 from 3 in non-conference at the beginning of the year.I agree that conference play is most important, but his season shooting average, including NIT play, is significantly lower.
Hopefully we recruit over him and he is a backup.
He thinks he's a shooter in that he is taking these really difficult shots early in the shot clock and he's not good at it, but he didn't stop doing it.Yes, I agree that his overall FG% was poor, I think he shot lower in 2 pt range than from 3. His job as a point guard is to run an offense that works together to get high percentage shots. I didn't always see that, and judging from Coach's reactions to his play, I wasn't the only one.He thinks he's a shooter in that he is taking these really difficult shots early in the shot clock and he's not good at it, but he didn't stop doing it.
Aside from shooting, he also dribbled away 15-20 seconds off of way too possessions without anything productive happening. I agree that he might be better off the ball if he can spot up.

I don't recall Lutz ever talking about culture. I hope that he has spent some time thinking through the core values of his program and will have some basic standards required of the guys that he will bring in. I thought that whenever he was hired that he was a no nonsense guy that would steer the ship. That didn't seem to happen last year. I think maybe he overestimated his ability to take some talented guys and make them mesh and that backfired. We need to get the right guys from the jump.
