Also tournament wrestling is a completely different animal when compared to dual wrestling. I’m holding off judgment till at least the Big 12 tournament.

Agreed, what gives me some hope that we might be a better tournament team is the visible evidence that these guys have been coached to be more aggressive on takedowns. For so many years, our guys won matches by one or two points and wrestled defensively. This group wrestles aggressively and goes for takedowns, probably because they’re worth three points now instead of two. Also, the fact that we had four major decisions against Iowa State leads me to believe we might be able to pile up some bonus points in tournaments. It will be interesting to see how we do in the Big 12 tournament.
