OSU-Kstate

Yes he did. It's been stated several times that a pretty good chunk was spent on this current team
As I’ve said before, it’s amazing what an absolutely abysmal job the previous staff did in targeting portal players.
When you bring in 50, & only 8 are starters for a team coming off a 3-9 season, that’s total failure and a reflection of how ill equipped they were to operate in the current environment.
But hey! Mike. ‘deserved’ a chance to fix it! (Fart noises)

How many of those 8 would start at a top half Big12 school?

Agree. The evaluators are key and the reason improvement has occurred in basketball and wrestling. Football failed because those evaluating could not tell the difference between a donkey or horse much less a thoroughbred.

Chad says we have plenty of NIL $$.
We have donors with money. We have donors who hate Gundy & how he has handled the past several tears. Terrible recruiting. Terrible on field product. Terrible coaches that lasted many years too long. Terrible OL. Zero indication anything was going to change. So they pulled their $$$ off the table. Donors will put us back on the map. Money talks.

If we hired Saban tomorrow, how the heck do you even begin to address this mess? Do you spend $20-30M on a team of 3 star talent? I mean seriously we will have to replace 75% of this team and pretty much become a first year D1 team

Whoever we get, I'm not expecting a miraculous, one season turnaround. I expect for us to be competitive in the third year, and I hope we might be pretty good in the second.

I hadn't really thought about it before, but what people are saying here is really true. We absolutely have to have great talent evaluators to get where we want to go in the era of NIL.

I agree but they have too because the OL is so pathetically bad. Sad thing is they are such poor blockers also, it’s a complete waste all around.
You're right. I also think Zane's skill set is best suited to an air raid approach that would minimize the OL deficiencies but I guess we're not going to try that.
