Does anyone else remember those long-gone days? What a time it was to be an OSU basketball fan. I miss it more than I can put into words. I still hope we’ll reach that level again someday, even as I accept the reality of where things are now (edit: and have been).

Look closely at how the play unfolds. Joey Graham “accidentally” loses control of the ball, just enough to pull the defender away from Lucas—who then calmly buried the game-winning three. Pure magic.

That was one of the very first examples of veteran portal all-stars coming together. Very similar to the Indiana football approach. Multiple NBA talented-level guys, NBA coach's son, very athletic twins and a near 30yo transfer from BYU. Those were men that got to the final 4. Making them gel was one of coach's greatest accomplishments as it is not easy to mesh a team so quickly.

I think we have become so impatient and seen so many excuses that we have become immune to losing. Lutz HATES losing. As a coach you only have so many options. These guys have only been together since August. HOF coaches are struggling nationwide trying to get their teams to gel. It is a very underappreciated art form of coaching.

The Graham twins and Bobik got to gel while redshirting an entire season. That year of scrimmaging starters really paid dividends for those guys.

Guys were good enough to make Tony Allen somewhat of a role player on that college team.
