I watched a highlight clip on YouTube. The camera panned to the DB with the ball, but it looked like an OSU DL stepped on Oliver after he took down the Arky QB.

As close to the vest as Gundy is about injuries, I default assumed this was for certain or he wouldn't have said it. I'd guess something unmistakable?

Yes, I agree with you! Speaking of significant injuries they were supposed to perform an MRI on Cam Risings throwing hand today to determine if he broke it or not yesterday against Baylor!
