At least 11 others were injured in a shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach. One gunman was also killed, and another alleged shooter is in critical condition, police said.

SYDNEY — Nine people were killed and at least 11 others injured after two men opened fire Sunday at Australia’s Bondi Beach, a popular gathering spot for locals and tourists, police said.

UPDATE

Australia’s New South Wales police say that the perpetrators of the Bondi Beach massacre were a 50-year-old father and his 24-year-old son.

The father has been killed and the son is hospitalized with injuries.

The father was licensed to own six firearms.

From what Ive seen the people most likely to offer thoughts and prayers are saying this is proof that gun laws in Australia don't work. Because something that happens once in a generation means things done to make this a once in a generation issue don't work.

Honestly I know its been a thing for a while but Im starting to wonder just how high the bot percentage is on social media.

We have laws that require nutrition information on foods. Why not bot info on social media given the known harms?

If I’m talking to some idiot in Kansas fine, he is allowed to be an idiot. If I’m talking to a Russian bot pretending to be an idiot from Kansas to make me feel worse about life and my country, not ok.

Even if it just listed general location by IP address and/or if using a VPN or not.

Exactly. We have plenty of home grown idiots that I can be frustrated with but they are actually real people. Trying to manipulate our general mindset to geopolitical purposes is something we need to focus our attention on stopping.

The problem with the idiot from Kansas is they are going to believe whatever they read and they also vote alot so that's how we get cities taking flouride out of drinking water.

Didn’t X do this a month or so ago only to find that so many MAGA accounts were foreign including Russia? So much so that they stopped only days later?

Yep. Instead of fixing the problem they decided covering it up again was the best solution.

And Im pretty sure there were a bunch of left leaning accounts that were foreign in origin as well.
