Charges filed against 4 men following investigation into dead longhorn placed on OSU fraternity's lawn koco
Four people were charged in connection to a dead longhorn found on the lawn of an Oklahoma State University fraternity house in December.
Bennet Fady, 20, Luke Ackerley, 19, Andrew King, 19, and Brody Shelby, 19, were each charged with unlawful disposal of a carcass, which is a criminal misdemeanor.
On the morning of Dec. 1, the Stillwater Police Department was dispatched to the FarmHouse Fraternity near Third Avenue and Monroe Street in reference to a dead longhorn that had been placed on the lawn of the fraternity. The animal had an expletive branded on its side directed at the fraternity.
Video obtained from FarmHouse fraternity showed that at around 4:15 a.m., a white Ford pickup truck pulled a trailer with an apparently dead longhorn laying on it to the front of the fraternity, according to Payne County court documents. Three individuals, who were seen on surveillance video wearing hoods over their heads, helped get the longhorn off the trailer while a fourth person drove the truck.
Members of the FarmHouse Fraternity said they believed the animal was left by members of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity due to an ongoing "prank war between them," court documents said.
Days later, police served a search warrant at the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
The four men are set to be arraigned in Payne County court next week.
