Israel launches preemptive strike against Iran

there was lots of speculation about Mossad involvement last night and there were LOTS of questions why Iran didn't immediately deploy air defense systems. Seems there was a reason.

Israel's Mossad mounted high-tech covert operation to strike targets deep inside Iran, sources say'

The Israeli Mossad intelligence agency mounted a multi-pronged covert operation deep inside Iran, using advanced systems and explosive drones to strike multiple targets overnight on Friday, sources told Euronews.

The Mossad managed to place systems with “precision-guided weaponry" deep in Tehran's territory, a source from the Israeli intelligence told Euronews on condition of anonymity.

“They were positioned in open areas near Iranian surface-to-air missile systems,” the source added.

The system was activated when the Israeli military offensive began, at the time the precision-guided missiles were about to be launched, Israeli intelligence confirmed.

In a separate operation, the Mossad secretly installed “strike systems and advanced technologies on vehicles” to “neutralise Iranian air defence capabilities” that Israel said were posing a threat to its fighter jets.

These systems were activated “at the onset of the surprise attack,” the Israeli intelligence source said, “launching weapons that completely destroyed Iranian air defence targets”.

A third campaign was also launched, with the Mossad operating well in advance of last night's operation. The secret services established “a base for explosive drones” deep into Iran, the source said.

“During the Israeli strike, these drones were activated and launched toward surface-to-surface missile launchers at the Esfajabad base near Tehran,” the Israeli intelligence concluded.

Information obtained by Euronews has since been corroborated by similar reports from Israeli and international outlets.

Israel has launched strikes across Iran overnight on Friday targeting Tehran's nuclear programme and killing Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami, Chief of Staff Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, and Emergency Forces Commander Gholam Rashid, as well as at least six top nuclear scientists.

Iran launches drones at Israel

Tehran launched more than 100 drones at Israel on Friday morning, Israel's military said, not long after Israel announced it had begun a major operation against Iran, with a wave of airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, scientists and senior military commanders.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said in televised remarks that Iran had launched the drones, and that Israel's air defenses were already "working to intercept the threats." Later Friday, an Israeli military official told reporters that while the threat wasn't over, Israel had managed to intercept many of Iran's UAVs.

Seeing multiple reports that Mossad and IDF also conducted an extremely calculated and precise attack on nearly EVERY Ballistic Missile Launch site in Iran .

Reports the strikes were aimed at the launch tubes for Iran entire ballistic missile fleet and it was just very small preliminary attacks designed just to damage the launch tubes to prevent Iran from a Ballistic Missile response to the attacks.

Lot of reports these attacks were also carried out by drones launched from locations all around the country by Mossad in the same coordinated attack the launched drones and took out a Large part of the Iranian Anti Air Defense systems and surface to Air sites.

This is being reported as the main reason that Iran has Not yet launched a full ballistic missile retaliation like they did in Oct 2024 when they fired over 300 of them into Israel. Now they haven't fired ONE SINGLE ballistic missile in retaliation yet.

so they are either sitting on their hands for their entire ballistic missile offensive capabilities OR the reports are right and Israel IDF and Mossad had damaged or subverted damn near every ballistic missile site in the country.

IDF commits to issue 10-minute warning ahead of expected Iranian missile attack. Tells Israelis to be within 10 min of shelter

When Iran carries out its expected counterstrike against Israel's attack on its nuclear and military assets, the IDF's Home Front Command will give a minimum of a 10-minute warning to the country.

IDF officials are hopeful that they may even be able to give an earlier prior warning if they can determine from various intelligence signs that Tehran is moving toward an attack, even before the attack starts.

The army was able to accomplish this when the Islamic Republic attacked Israel in October 2024.

However, this is an uncertain proposition and depends on tricky intelligence issues, such that the home front still suggests people stay in or near their homes, so that they can get to their safe areas within a 10-minute warning period.

Trump 'made a mockery of all of us': MAGA devotees revolt over foreign policy about-face

Politico reports President Donald Trump’s own MAGA devotees warned him of Israel’s penchant for military escalation. Now the retaliation is setting in.

"The White House claims it played no part in the strikes on Tehran’s nuclear facilities Thursday night,” says Politico. Tehran was even slated to meet with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff over the weekend for peace talks, but now the U.S. is in a precarious place considering it unilaterally funds nearly a third of Israel’s military machine. Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu's strike also threatens to pull the U.S. deeper into Middle East conflict to the chagrin of a huge swathe of Trump's MAGA base.

“What the president does from here could end up defining his presidency,” Breitbart MAGA content producer Matt Boyle told Politico hours after the attack. “He has to balance protecting America’s greatest ally in the region in Israel with avoiding getting the USA drawn into war.”

Other MAGA personalities are not so civil.

“Israel has now made a mockery of the United States,” said Breaking Points host Saagar Enjeti, on X. Earlier Enjeti predicted “a war with Iran would make the disastrous war in Iraq look like a cakewalk.”

Enjeti initially painted Trump as a victim of Israel’s indifference, saying Trump “said he did not want strikes ahead of negotiations,” and that the “attack … is deliberate sabotage and a blatant attempt to force us into war. We must resist.”

But in a quick turn of allegiance, Enjeti later agonized that “Trump has now praised Israel’s strike, affirmed US material support; and Israeli media is reporting his public opposition was a disinformation campaign to mislead Iran.”

“So, in other words, Trump — not Israel — has made a mockery of all of us wanted to avoid this war,” Enjeti concluded.

Trump ally Charlie Kirk went live with his supporters in the aftermath of the attack and admitted “ … you guys ... are not thrilled with this situation at all.”

He added that the strike raises the fundamental question of “How does the America First foreign policy doctrine and foreign policy agenda … stay consistent with this right now?”

Politico reports the strike against Tehran may also have been a strike against Trump’s claim of strength, with “some of the most high-profile figures of the movement [taking] to social media, podcasts and television imploring Trump to intervene to stop it, believing that he actually could.”

In the hours before the violence, Kirk had argued that allowing the Israeli strike “would be seen as an unforgivable betrayal by millions of American voters.”

Also, just before the strike, Politico reports right-wing activist Jack Posobiec warned the economic and political impact to the White House could be disastrous, with “a new Middle East conflict with Iran” hitting “summer gas prices” just in time for the midterms.

ohh look, the Russian stooge is upset at Trump for Israel attacking one of Russia's Allies. FYI Russia has already said they would stand beside Iran 100%

Tucker Carlson Releases ‘Final Newsletter Before All-Out War,’ Blasts Trump as ‘Complicit’

Tucker Carlson has issued what he called the potential “final newsletter before all-out war” following Israel’s airstrikes against Iran.

In the Friday newsletter published through his media network for subscribers, Carlson called President Donald Trump “complicit” in Israel’s “act of war.”

Hours after the bold strike on Iran, Trump praised Israel’s “excellent” attack, while Iran has called it a “declaration of war.”

“This Could Be the Final Newsletter Before All-Out War,” Carlson’s newsletter declared before running down Israel’s strikes, which hit Iran’s top nuclear facility and multiple military bases.

“On Thursday, Iran’s president threatened to ‘destroy’ any country that eliminates his government’s nuclear facilities. Now, the world will learn what that looks like,” the newsletter reads.

Carlson’s network also questioned Trump’s reaction and prior knowledge of the strikes following Secretary of State Marco Rubio saying the United States had no involvement.

“While the American military may not have physically perpetrated the assault, years of funding and sending weapons to Israel, which Donald Trump just bragged about on Truth Social, undeniably place the U.S. at the center of last night’s events. Washington knew these attacks would happen. They aided Israel in carrying them out. Politicians purporting to be America First can’t now credibly turn around and say they had nothing to do with it. Our country is in deep,” the newsletter reads.

Carlson then called the president “complicit.”

“Despite being complicit in the act of war, the president hopes last night’s events will help his ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran. Steve Witkoff was scheduled to participate in the next round of talks on Sunday, but whether that will still happen is up in the air,” he wrote.

After quoting Trump about some people not coming back to the negotiation table as a result of the strikes, Carlson asked how any of this progresses the United States.

“It’s worth taking a step back and wondering how any of this helps the United States,” the newsletter reads. “We can’t think of a single way.”

Israel is risking finding out if Iran really has nuclear bombs or not. What if Iran keeps them deep underground for protection from bombs. Or that's great if Iran doesn't have any in the first place.

Netanyahu said yesterday they had intel that indicated Iran had enough enriched Uranium to produce 9 Nuclear Warheads.

They also said they had intel that Iran and already started assembling the first bomb and was within days of mounting it on a rocket

I've been watching Tel Aviv Live streams since the sun went down. In Oct 2024 Iran launched over 300 ballistic missiles into Tel Aviv and the Iron dome took down like 200+ of them and like 100 got through.

I've seen no more than 2 waves of attacks today and I've not seen more than 15 -20 Iron Dome interceptors fire off to bring them down and I've only seen 5 Missiles actually hit in Tel Aviv.

either Iran run out of missiles to shoot at them OR they have lost a crap ton of capability to launch more than they are now.

Reports last night said that Iran last fall went from producing less than 10 ballistic missiles per month to around 50 per month.

US military says it helped shoot down missiles headed for Israel -

The US military has helped shoot down Iranian missiles that were headed toward Israel, two American officials said on Friday, according to Reuters News Agency.

Netanyahu: 'More is on the way'

We have more on Netanyahu's statement now.

During the address, he said that Israel's fight is not with the Iranian people, but against Iran's leadership.

He listed Iranian targets that have been hit by Israel, including military and nuclear sites, and adds: "More is on the way. The regime does not know what hit them, or what will hit them. It has never been weaker.

"This is your opportunity to stand up and let your voices be heard," he tells the Iranian people.

He reiterates that Israel's objective is to thwart what he describes as Iran's nuclear and missile "threat".

"As we achieve our objective, we are also clearing the path for you to achieve your freedom," he says, adding: "The time has come for the Iranian people to unite around its flag and its historic legacy, by standing up for your freedom from the evil and oppressive regime."

40 people being treated in Israeli hospitals across the country

A total of 40 people are being treated in Israeli hospitals after the recent strikes - four are in critical condition.

Ichilov hospital in Tel Aviv is treating 18 patients.

Beilinson hospital in Petah Tikva is treating 7 people, including one critical patient.

Sheba hospital in Ramat Gan is treating 15 patients, including the other critical patient.

The injuries are varied, and include shrapnel damage, smoke inhalation and shock.

Nuclear watchdog says two Iranian sites hit

Iranian authorities say nuclear sites at Fordo and Isfahan have been hit by Israeli attacks, according to International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi.

Speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, he says Iranian authorities informed them, but they don't have more information.

He adds that parts of the Natanz facility "have been destroyed", in the strikes from early on Friday morning, including the above ground plant.

There is radiological and chemical contamination inside the facilities, Grossi says, but it is manageable.
