Border czar says ICE may not leave airports once TSA officers are paid

Border czar Tom Homan said Sunday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents would remain at airports until TSA officers are able to resume normal operations.

“We’re going to continue an ICE presence there, and until the airports feel like they’re in 100%, you know, in a posture where they can do normal operations,” Homan said in an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.” “So if less TSA agents come back, that means we’ll keep more ICE agents there.”

Two senior DHS sources told the Daily Mail that Stephen Miller ordered federal agents into Minneapolis specifically to “force confrontations” with anti-ICE protesters — because he wanted to win a “PR battle.”

He reportedly said demonstrators “need to be vanquished by any force necessary.”

Federal agents then shot and killed Alex Pretti, a 36-year-old ICU nurse who was filming them.
Miller called him an “assassin.”

I'm not a fan of Lankford, but I don't view him with anywhere near the disdain I do of the typical MAGAt politicians. However, this quote really bugged me.

What Democrats were asking for for ICE and CBP on their, quote-unquote, “reforms,” were absolutely absurd. They asked for things, for instance, like ICE could not be at polling places. Well, if you’re not legally present you shouldn’t be voting in America.
NBC

We already know the whole illegals voting is a bunch of BS. It rarely if ever happens. Second, that isn't why Trump would want them at the polling places. It would be for intimidation or to cause a scene to keep people away. End of story. So don't be a turd James, you know better than that.

ICE agents will be stationed outside graduation events for the nation’s newest Marines to identify whether any of their family members are undocumented, according to the Marine Corps.

CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott gave Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino a direct order: return the government’s social media accounts.

Bovino had renamed three federal accounts — 850,000 combined followers after himself, refused to give them back and said the audience was his.

Corey Lewandowski intervened and blocked Scott from taking action. El Centro built new accounts. They now have 11,000 followers.

MarkWayne shut Bovino’s accounts down on his first day in the seat.

Homeland Security pauses plan to purchase warehouses for detention centers, no plans for currently owned Warehouses that were purchased with intent to house ICE Detainees

The Department of Homeland Security is temporarily pausing plans to buy warehouses to detain undocumented immigrants, according to multiple reports, with the move coming less than two weeks into recently confirmed Secretary Markwayne Mullin's tenure.

In an emailed statement to USA TODAY, DHS said that "as with any transition, we are reviewing agency policies and proposals." It's not clear whether Mullin intends on moving forward with the agency's plan to convert already acquired warehouses into detention centers.

The former Oklahoma senator has previously expressed some hesitancy, noting at his confirmation hearing last month that "it's important that we're talking to the communities" where such centers would be constructed and maintained.

DHS' estimated $38.3 billion plan to buy 24 commercial warehouses and boost its detention capacity to more than 92,000 beds in a few months had received criticism from some local officials and residents in the potential locations, according to previous reporting by USA TODAY. Local authorities have voiced concerns that the facilities could overwhelm public sewage and water systems.

The pushback contributed to the collapse of at least 11 deals, but as of early March, the federal government had purchased at least 10 warehouses.

Some proposed warehouses are expected to hold more than 8,000 individuals at a time. President Donald Trump's deportation crackdown was a cornerstone of his 2024 reelection bid and first year of his second term.

I'm sure this will be the first of MANY of these out of the 2nd Admin of Trump. I also assume that Trump will pardon these people before he leaves office.

DHS inspector general probing contracts handled by ex-Secretary Kristi Noem

The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General is probing contracts that were handled by former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and the influence of former staffer Corey Lewandowski, according to sources.

The investigation is sprawling, according to sources, and court records indicate that at least one former Federal Emergency Management Agency official has received a notice to retain documents.

The IG's office doesn't confirm or deny "criminal or administrative" investigations, according to a statement from the office. The office did say it is auditing DHS grants and contracts, which it publicly posted on its website.

The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to ABC News' request for comment.

During his confirmation hearing last month, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said that the department will cooperate with any such investigations.

The IG will be "doing the investigation," Mullin said. "I will do everything required to me by law. And in the policies that you guys give me, there won't be any gray area with me. We want to have a good relationship with, with the IG. He's got a job to do."

What Pam Bondi and Noem and MANY others are failing to see...when these probes turn into criminal referals, THEY are going to be the ones going to jail for what they did at the direction of Trump.

Democrats probing former State Department Employee turned CEO linked to FIVE different companies awarded hundreds of millions during Noem DHS tenure:

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, is demanding answers from a man linked to multiple companies awarded hundreds of millions in government contracts while Kristi Noem led the Department of Homeland Security, according to a new report.

NOTUS was first on Thursday to report on a letter from Garcia to William Walters, a former State Department employee linked to five companies awarded DHS contracts. Garcia accused Noem and advisor Corey Lewandowski of awarding government contracts “under opaque contracting conditions.”

Since Noem stepped aside as head of DHS, Markwayne Mullin has been confirmed as the new secretary. Noem currently serves as Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas.

“Former Secretary Noem and Mr. Lewandowski also awarded lucrative DHS contracts under opaque contracting conditions to other companies for which you are listed as an executive officer, or which share the same addresses as companies founded by you and your associates,” the letter reads.

The contracts were all awarded in 2025 to companies that had never received immigration-related contracts. Valkyrie Aviation Holdings Group leased a luxury jet to Noem while other contracts were more focused on immigration and deportation-related activities.

Marines work to convince families ICE will not be at graduations

The Marine Corps attempted to reassure military families Wednesday that no immigration enforcement would take place during upcoming boot camp graduation ceremonies, following significant backlash over the planned involvement of federal agents.

The service blamed an internal communications failure for a notice posted Tuesday on the website for Parris Island, the famed training facility in South Carolina.

The notice stated that federal law enforcement “will be present at installation access points to conduct enhanced screening and lawful immigration status inquiries” of recruits’ families, according to The Washington Post.

The announcement, first reported by NBC News, sparked immediate criticism from immigrant advocates and Democratic lawmakers, who questioned the collaboration between the military and an agency central to the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

Defense officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told The Post that the original message was requested by an official at Parris Island and published without the approval of senior Marine Corps leaders at the Pentagon. One official described the incident as a “self-inflicted gunshot wound,” while another characterized it as a “step on a rake” moment.

Following the outcry, the service updated the notice on its website Tuesday to remove any mention of immigration status.

The revised message now states that federal law enforcement will be present due to “increased force protection measures and to expedite enhanced base access procedures” during graduation events.

“We want these families to go see their kids graduate,” Lt. Col. Joshua Benson, a spokesperson for the service, told The Post. “We want these families to see their sons and daughters become United States Marines.”
