GOP House Rep defeated in his Primary goes after GOP Senator Ted Cruz after Cruz endorsed the challenger that defeated him
Dan Crenshaw blasts Ted Cruz in overnight social media rant — claims senator is backed by donor behind ‘illegal alien safe haven’
Rep.
Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) took aim at Sen.
Ted Cruz (R-TX) in an early-morning rant accusing him of being backed by a donor who was behind an “illegal alien safe haven.”
The accusation came after Cruz
formally endorsed state Rep. Steve Toth — Crenshaw’s challenger in his district’s Republican primary. In early March, Toth emerged from the primary battle victorious.
As noted in a report from
Axios, Toth’s campaign got a big boost from a wave of anti-Crenshaw ads funded by Texas banker
Robert Marling. He reportedly donated nearly $700,000.
Early Wednesday morning, Crenshaw shared a post on Instagram that included a photo of Cruz on a plane. The post was about national lawmakers vacationing during the Homeland Security shutdown. Crenshaw added:
First Ted Cruz defunds ICE and CBP, and then pulls this. Still nothing will compare to Ted’s last minute vacation to Cancun while his less wealthy Houston neighbors were scooping freezing water out of community pools so they could flush their toilet. Always nice to be in the ultra wealthy River Oaks class and still manage to convince a few gullible voters that you’re “fighting for them.”
Not surprising he didn’t fund ICE, because one of his mega donors, Robert Marling, is the banker behind Colony Ridge, an alleged illegal alien safe haven. Follow the money.
In a February 2026 release, Texas Attorney General
Ken Paxton announced the state had reached a
$68 million settlement with Colony Ridge. In the release, Paxton accused the developer of creating “a de facto illegal immigrant community.”
