Really only like 2 million vote? That’s way worse than the national voter turnout isn’t it?
5 million registered voters in NYC so about 40%. Its an off year so that alone will suppress the vote. That being said for a criminal versus a commie its obviously a really big turnout.
But yeah I hear you. Anyone calling this a bellweather race for 2026 is probably pushing the narrative more than they should. I can't imagine traditional republican voters were too excited about choosing between someone they used to hate and someone they are just getting used to hating.

I also hope there were some people that were willing to overlook the malfeasance when it was kept at a lower level like in the first Trump administration, but the brash corruption right in your face along with the mistreatment of people is just too much now so they switched.
