Also important for a deep postseason run will be hosting a regional.

Going to need some big wins. They'll have chances next week...could get ugly I'm afraid.

I agree that hosting a regional is key, however if the pieces in place I believe you have a chance to win anywhere. They’ll be chances to win big games throughout the season. With the new pitchers, I expect several ugly outings. That said, I’m hoping one or both freshman can be reliable options. Otherwise, Meylan will get worn down

If that's the thinking, then why pull them both early? Let them work their way through it. Especially Downing. Just 2 runs allowed against Cal and we immediately tied it. She would have been fine.

One of the biggest problems last year in the circle was a lack of confidence, even Ruby said she wasn't as confident as she would like...so we solve this by letting them our freshman get hammered against a team she's not ready for?

The best example is Aycok...she's struggling so let's send her to the circle in Norman and let her blow our chance for a historic sweep. (Yes Im still bitter)

There is definitely a mental aspect to pitching that we are missing for the last two seasons.

The offensive side hasn't changed much, but from Sam Show to Lexi Kilfoyl we had a run of warriors in the circle, and now it seems we don't.

Still trying to figure that out..pitching coach definitely panicked. I just know you have to throw them in and hope for the best. Reality is that we whiffed in the portal badly in the pitching department. Right now, ruby is all we got that can legitimately go toe to toe with top 10-15 teams.
